Anabella subtly kept smelling herself the whole ride. 

The trio's lack of conversation made the air tense, and she could tell James wanted to speak. But every time the kid opened his mouth, his expression turned sour, and he quickly looked away.

She would have asked what was wrong with him, but Anabella did not want to seem snobbish and overbearing.

That was why she kept her curiosity under warps and headed toward her room as soon as she was home.

Once in her room, Anabella took a shower to remove the scent from her skin and glands before falling asleep as soon as her body hit the bed.

When she woke up a few hours later, she first picked up her phone to check the time.

Her eyes instantly fell on the 10+ messages she had gotten from Clair and Noah asking her if she was fine and if there was anything they could do to help her out.
