Capítulo 26: Survival Pt.3

The parasites attacked in packs now. Kai cursed his lack of cover as they sprinted towards him. 5 of them were almost running over each other in their fury, eager to be the one to kill.

Kai watched as their legs pounded the open field, not even bothering to look behind him. The nearest tree, the nearest cover, would be far too much distance to cross.

He would have to face them head-on—1 of him against 5 howling, bloodthirsty parasites. Their howling indicated an insatiable hunger that Kai wasn't even sure his corpse would fulfill. Just the same, he had an insatiable hunger for power that they definitely couldn't fulfill.

They were just another road bump, weren't they?

'They're still dangerous, though.' Kai thought as he narrowly dodged one of their arms flailing toward him.

The next instant the parasites kept up the offensive, 3 of them lunging at once. 2 of them collided with each other and began snarling, but one of them got a clean hit and tackled Kai.
