As the main general in the battle against Iwagakure, Rasa was widely respected on the northern front, admired by nearly everyone.
But now, after becoming used to the respect of his colleagues and subordinates, he encountered this "brat" named Hattori, who didn't seem to take him seriously at all. Of course, Rasa found this infuriating.
What irked him even more was that this kid happened to be the apprentice of Chiyo, a highly influential advisor in Sunagakure, and had also attracted the attention of the Third Kazekage. That just made Rasa feel even more annoyed.
"He's just a kid! What's so special about him?"
During their last mission together, Rasa hadn't given Hattori a single kind look. But the kid seemed unaffected and even became bolder, provoking him the entire way, making Rasa's veins bulge in anger! If it weren't for the fact that he was a child of the village, he would have loved to give this brat a taste of his *Gold Dust Burial*.
Rasa thought their last mission together would be the end of it, and that he'd never have to cross paths with this brat again. But to his surprise, less than a month later, he found himself facing that same kid once more!
The words the Third Kazekage had said to him three days earlier flashed through his mind:
"Rasa, you are the one I trust most. I'm ordering you to go to the Eastern Front, bring back Chiyo's apprentice—our village's future hope and brilliant medical-nin, Hattori—safely. Go, and don't disappoint me!"
Thinking about the serious look on the Kazekage's face, and then recalling Hattori's irritating smirk, Rasa clenched his fists.
"Damn it!"
Despite his frustration, Rasa, as a shinobi, took his mission seriously and set off for the Eastern Front's field hospital to retrieve Hattori once more. But upon arrival, he was shocked to find the kid wasn't even there.
"This is a battlefield! Who does he think he is, wandering around like it's nothing?"
The thought of Hattori possibly getting into trouble due to his wandering, and the mission failing, made Rasa grind his teeth.
But since the Third Kazekage had personally assigned him this mission, he had no choice but to look for Hattori, even skipping meals. Controlling his Gold Dust, he spent the entire day searching through almost every corner of the Eastern Front.
The result? Predictable.
He found nothing.
When he finally returned late at night, exhausted, he learned from Chiyo that Hattori had already returned and was to be taken back to the village the next day.
At that point, Rasa didn't know whether he felt more angry or relieved. His emotions were beyond conflicted.
Under such emotional turmoil, he couldn't sleep a wink, waiting restlessly until dawn.
So, as he stood outside Hattori's tent, he was like a powder keg ready to explode. If Hattori had obediently gotten up and followed him, Rasa might have managed to hold his anger. But, of course, Hattori chose to provoke him again. How could he tolerate that?
"You little brat! You're pushing your luck!"
Saying this, he threw open the tent flap, strode in, grabbed Hattori by the back of his collar, and yanked him out, tossing him to the ground.
_(:ι」∠)_
Hattori: "..."
Is he serious?
Looking at Rasa's angry face, Hattori sighed helplessly, standing up and dusting himself off.
"Tsk…relax, man. Don't you know anger's bad for your liver?"
Rasa: "(╬ ̄皿 ̄)"
Liver, my foot! You think I'm this mad because of someone else?
Veins popping again, Rasa couldn't be bothered to say more and merely spat out two words coldly.
"Let's go!"
Without waiting for a response, he turned and headed for the field hospital exit.
After a while, he realized Hattori hadn't followed. Looking back, he nearly twisted his mouth in anger.
Hattori had gone back to his tent, with one foot already inside!
Does this kid think I, Rasa, am a joke?
Enraged, Rasa almost turned and left him there, but recalling the Kazekage's order, he bit his lip, turned back, and stormed into Hattori's tent.
"Enough! Quit messing around!"
…
A minute later, Hattori found himself being dragged out of the tent again. But this time, Rasa didn't let go, instead hauling him directly toward the exit to prevent him from running back.
Seeing this, the shinobi around them couldn't help but cover their mouths, trying not to laugh.
But it wasn't out of mockery. Their eyes were filled with respect, admiration, and even affection as they looked at Hattori.
"Good morning, Hattori-sama! Heading back to the village?"
"Thanks for all your help, Hattori-sama. I'll visit to show my gratitude once I return!"
"Take care on your journey, Hattori-sama!"
Many shinobi greeted Hattori, and a few brave kunoichi even ran up and gave him quick kisses on the cheeks, drawing even more laughter from the onlookers.
Seeing this, Rasa's expression shifted slightly as he led Hattori forward.
"Didn't think you were so popular for a brat. Are your medical skills really that good?"
"Hah…they're okay. Third-best in the world!"
Hattori yawned, looking a bit tired.
"The techniques are fine, but experience-wise, I still have a way to go compared to my teacher and Tsunade."
Rasa: "→_→"
The nerve of this kid!
Rasa didn't believe a word of it and simply gave him a dismissive glance, staying silent.
Once they left the field hospital, he used Magnet Release to gather a large clump of Gold Dust underfoot, lifted off into the air, and headed for Sunagakure.
In the air, he released Hattori onto the Gold Dust beside him.
"Hold on, or I won't help if you fall!"
"Tch!"
Hattori sneered, knowing that, given Chiyo and the Kazekage's high regard for him, Rasa wouldn't dare let him fall.
But he also understood that, although Rasa wouldn't abandon him, he might try to make him look foolish.
Hattori wasn't the type to stir up trouble for no reason, so he sat quietly on Rasa's Gold Dust as they flew swiftly toward Sunagakure.
Looking at the rocky desert speeding by below, Hattori couldn't help but feel nostalgic, recalling the struggles of his journey here.
"Flying really is faster than walking. It'd be great to have a flying summon beast. Wonder what kind would suit me…"
Turning to Rasa, he asked, "What do you think, Old Rasa?"
Rasa: "(╬ ̄皿 ̄)"
Old Rasa, my foot!
