Capítulo 60: Chapter 1&2

Chapter 1: Are you here to kill me?

Off the airspace of Floating Island No. 14,

The Second Division of the Wing Guard Army's battleships were patrolling around the Floating Island as usual, protecting the nearby airspace.

On the battleships, soldiers of various races were carrying out their assigned tasks at their respective posts, ensuring the safe flight of this massive steel behemoth.

The soldiers varied in form, some were short goblin-like beings, some were hobbits with wings on their backs, some were dog-like creatures that walked upright...

But everyone seemed accustomed to each other's presence, showing no surprise even when encountering races with completely different life forms, working together with laughter and conversation.

However, there was not a single human among them.

This was only natural because humans had long been extinct in this world.

But even though they disappeared, they left behind a legacy that disturbed the peace of this world - the "Seventeen Creatures".

These monsters with varying abilities possessed unmatched strength compared to other races. After the original surface-dominating humans disappeared, they took over the land and became the rulers of the new world.

In order to avoid the disaster of extinction, other races, with the help of the great sage Suowong Kandel, lifted the land into the sky, building miraculous floating continents in the sky to escape the beasts' threats.

However, they were not completely free from the influence of the Seventeen Creatures.

Amongst these creatures with different abilities, the Sixth Beast possessed the power of flight.

Therefore, the surviving races could not escape the fate of battle and built flying warships and various weapons to combat the Sixth Beast.

The Wing Guard Army was created to counter the Sixth Beast.

In the flagship of the Second Division of the Wing Guard Army, a rabbit-like creature was adjusting a magic compass in the command room, looking tense as the pattern on the screen suddenly fluctuated.

This compass, created by the great sage of the floating continent group, combined extraordinary intelligence and superior magic power, could detect magical devices of any large creature within a hundred kilometers.

Its purpose was to detect the intentions of the menacing Sixth Beast approaching the Floating Island during patrols, giving them time to choose defensive or offensive strategies.

Since it was now showing fluctuations, it could only mean one thing.

"Captain Gray Rock!" a rabbit soldier immediately reported, "Three kilometers to the southeast, a massive magical energy fluctuation has been detected, and the energy source cannot be identified."

On the commander's seat, a lizard-like lizard warrior wearing blue-gray scale armor looked towards the southeast through the command room glass, squinting his long, narrow eyes.

With his naturally strong vision, he saw an unusual distortion in space not far away, like fragile paper crumpled violently.

Faced with such a phenomenon, Gray Rock's first instinct was to order a retreat.

But as he thought of the nearby Floating Island No. 14, the warrior's soul in him, who fought to protect his homeland, immediately changed his mind and ordered, "All battleships adopt a fan formation, encircle that area, and issue a warning to the surrounding Floating Islands!"

"Yes!"

The communication officer on the flagship immediately contacted the other battleships, rapidly relaying the commander's orders.

The surrounding battleships formed a fan formation centered around the flagship, slowly encircling the distorted space, moving closer with each movement of the flagship.

Approaching the limit distance, with just about a kilometer left, Gray Rock once again ordered, "All soldiers, prepare for battle!"

This was the first time he faced such an abnormal situation. Without considering the important residents of Floating Island No. 14, he would never take such a big risk.

He could only respond to the situation using the strategies used against the Sixth Beast in the past.

Each battleship was equipped with missiles from military factories, which were one of the few effective means to harm the Sixth Beast for these non-magical races.

However, even with missiles, they could only temporarily delay the beasts' advance, unable to truly kill them.

After all, they were not the main force meant to battle the Sixth Beast.

And the main force that should have been battling the Sixth Beast was not on the battleships right now.

Because no one had expected to detect a sudden magical energy fluctuation in this place, let alone that the source of the magical energy would appear directly around the Floating Island.

As every soldier nervously waited, the distorted space rapidly expanded, creating seismic-like waves.

If such waves appeared above the Floating Island instead of the vast sky, the impact would be catastrophic.

If these appeared within the residential islands, who knows how many would die in such an explosion.

The smaller battleships were affected by the waves, almost losing control in the turbulence.

Amidst the turbulence, Gray Rock stared intently at the center of that space.

Whether it was an illusion or not, he seemed to see a figure appear within it.

"That is...?"

Gray Rock held his breath, resisting the urge to launch missiles until the shockwave and spatial distortion had completely disappeared. Only then did he see the figure suspended in the sky.

It was a girl without any beastly features.

Her purple hair cascaded like a waterfall behind her, wearing a battle dress that glowed uniquely under the sunlight like a purple gem, and the soft radiance of the light membrane under the armor was like a skirt, adding a touch of luxurious charm to the valiant female warrior.

In her hands, she held a huge double-edged sword, the silver blade embedded in a golden sword base, like a noble weapon used by royalty.

Upon appearing in this world, the girl in the center of the spatial crack opened her amethyst-colored eyes, standing still dazedly.

As if not understanding why she was here, her innocent eyes showed a hint of confusion.

She looked at the giant sword in her hand and then at the armor on her body, as if finally understanding something.

Turning her gaze towards the massive airborne fleet blockading her way, the girl's eyes widened slightly.

Facing the airships aiming at her, ready to launch missiles to kill her at any moment, her expression gradually turned cold.

But upon closer inspection, there was a hint of sadness mixed in her brows.

In front of the numerous giant steel airships, she did not show any signs of fear, instead slowly raising her giant sword, pointing it towards the largest warship among them.

Her crimson lips moved.

Although her voice could not reach the warship, Gray Rock could still read her lips.

"Are you here to kill me?"

Chapter 2: Confrontation with the Second Division

The second traversal was something the girl still wasn't fully accustomed to.

As soon as she opened her eyes, she looked down at the Astral Dress on her body.

Sure enough, the black and red evening gown was gone.

In its place was a dazzlingly intricate purple battle dress, accompanied by a massive silver greatsword.

The girl scanned the text displayed on the system screen.

However, her peripheral vision caught something unusual, and she instinctively glanced around.

"Ah, you startled me!"

The sight of a fleet of warships glaring at her from not far away nearly made her draw her weapon and charge.

Suppressing the impulse, she refrained from acting rashly.

"What's going on here?"

In the previous world, the system had spawned her in a deserted alley, so she had assumed this time would be similar.

She hadn't expected to find herself directly in front of a military fleet.

No wonder she had instinctively summoned her Astral Dress and angel, appearing fully armed.

"So, the next role starts right away, huh? At least give me some time to adjust my mindset…"

Running through Tohka Yatogami's character profile in her mind, the girl took a deep breath, calming her racing heart.

Energetic, innocent, tsundere, gluttonous, jealous, and prone to uttering "umu" frequently this was the essence of Tohka Yatogami.

Yet, she only revealed her true self to those she trusted.

To strangers, Tohka Yatogami was undoubtedly a dangerous Spirit.

Like a queen on an iron throne, she was aloof, unapproachable, and ruthless toward anything that might threaten her.

In one word: cold.

Having locked onto the character, she raised the Angel of the Sword, Sandalphon, and donned the expression Tohka wore when she first met Shido Itsuka an air of majesty and indifference tinged with sorrow, reluctant to harm anyone.

"Are you here to kill me?"

Though such provocation might trigger the fleet to attack first, Tohka Yatogami didn't care.

No, more accurately, she wasn't concerned.

In this world, there were only a handful of beings she needed to be wary of; the rest were insignificant.

Equipped with AAA-class Astral Dress and an AAA-class Angel, coupled with a warrior's (or maniac's) temperament, she had nothing to fear from most adversaries.

Unlike Tokisaki Kurumi, who relied on strategies and tricks, Tohka relied on raw power.

For her, enemies fell into two categories: those she could defeat and those she couldn't. There was no third option.

Tohka Yatogami's Astral Dress and Angel were born for combat.

If she could face the AST and DEM's top magicians head on, why would she fear a few clunky airships?

Fight if they wanted. She wouldn't care about the consequences.

"It seems the target isn't attacking for now. Despite the hostility, we might avoid a battle," mused Gray Rock, the first class officer aboard the flagship.

He pressed a button on the loudspeaker and addressed the girl hovering in midair:

"This is the Second Division of the Winged Guard. I am First Officer Gray Rock. We're not here to kill you, but you've violated the Sky Control Act of the Floating Archipelago. Lay down your weapon and surrender immediately, and we'll deal with this leniently."

"Surrender?" Tohka asked with an icy tone.

"I've done nothing wrong. What law could I have violated? If you want to fight, I won't back down."

"Unlicensed release of magical energy near a residential floating island violates the regulations under our jurisdiction."

"How ridiculous! Does this sky have your name on it? Who gave you the right to claim it as yours?" Tohka scoffed. "I'll say this one last time: if you don't want to get hurt, leave now."

Gray Rock hesitated, momentarily at a loss for words.

Was the question too childish, or was the logic overly simplistic?

Regardless, it was not something a normal person would ask.

"This sky belongs to the Floating Archipelago. Even if you don't understand, as long as you're in our airspace, you must follow our laws," Gray Rock explained. "Where exactly are you from that you don't know this?"

"Where I'm from… I'm not really sure, to be honest."

After pondering for a moment and failing to find an answer, Tohka gave up and asked, "So, if I go somewhere else, will that be okay?"

"Where do you intend to go?"

"That island over there should work, right?" Tohka pointed to a nearby floating island.

"No, that's still part of our territory," Gray Rock replied, recognizing it as Island 14.

"Fine… How about that one farther away?" Tohka gestured toward a tiny speck of an island in the distance.

"No, that's also our territory," Gray Rock sighed, knowing she referred to Island 15.

"This one's off-limits, that one's off-limits! Where am I supposed to go?" Tohka shouted, frustrated. "Are you messing with me?"

"What are you talking about? All floating islands are part of the Floating Archipelago. Did you think they were unclaimed?"

"Do these islands have your name on them?"

"Why would they need names?" Gray Rock muttered, exasperated. "Forget it. I think I understand now."

He sighed deeply.

A flying girl, wielding a magical sword, with zero common sense and a childish mindset...

Her appearance fit the profile of one particular race perfectly.

"Golden fairy over there, come aboard the ship for now," Gray Rock said, canceling the missile lock command. He ordered the fleet to relax its formation, signaling no hostility.

"I'm sure you're confused right now, but I promise I can answer all your questions."
