64% Interstellar Longevity: Living Long Enough to Dominate the Universe / Chapter 96: Chapter 96: The True Nature of the Border City

Capítulo 96: Chapter 96: The True Nature of the Border City

Yan Xia waited on the ground for Ella's arrival.

She had come with her soldiers, and an officer approached him.

"Sir, the terrain here is extremely unfavorable for us. I suggest we leave this star domain."

Yan Xia looked around, and many soldiers were on high alert.

Everyone knew that staying here meant something significant.

They hadn't come to observe this place, and they didn't want to be controlled.

"I understand," Yan Xia replied coldly.

The officer was puzzled. Such a significant issue, and the leader didn't even respond. This could affect their lives in the future.

What if the relationship between the Civilized Federation and the Olive Branch Civilization deteriorated?

In the vastness of space, they still had a chance to fight back, but here, with their battleships docked in the interstellar port, they were completely at the mercy of others. It was like walking into a trap.

Ella, standing beside him, understood Yan Xia's thoughts.

Fortune favors the bold.

It was in situations like this that they could make their opponents lower their guard.

Currently, the two civilizations were still in a state of pretense, and Yan Xia predicted that the Olive Branch Civilization wouldn't make a move yet. Doing so would be pointless.

Although it might seem ridiculous to judge one civilization's values based on another's, their initial interactions suggested that the Olive Branch Civilization was cold and emotionless.

They understood strategy and knew how to use it. They would plan and then act.

This was the space Yan Xia could work with.

More importantly, the Civilized Federation's technological level had reached a point where the Olive Branch Civilization couldn't ignore it, and the Holy Grail Project provided the backup that gave Yan Xia the confidence to stay.

Ella had also calculated that Yan Xia's attitude might be a bit too arrogant and dangerous.

After the officer left, Ella approached Yan Xia and said, "Yan Xia, based on my observations, there is no trace of any civilization here."

"As a machine, I have more authority than life that has undergone mechanical ascension. Even purely mechanical lifeforms, upon reaching a higher level, wouldn't behave so coldly."

Their conversation was conveyed through a special method called quantum state stealth transmission.

In many science fiction novels, this technology is used for teleportation. It involves breaking down life into a quantum state within a device and then using quantum entanglement to reassemble it in another container, achieving a teleportation effect similar to that in video games, and even surpassing the speed of light.

However, quantum entanglement is still subject to the speed of light, and due to the uncertainty of quantum states, additional auxiliary information is required to achieve quantum state stealth transmission. This is a form of encrypted message transmission technology and cannot transmit a complete biological or physical entity.

Ella's words were transmitted to Yan Xia's wristwatch through quantum teleportation, and then the watch stimulated Yan Xia's nerves, creating the sensation of hearing a voice, similar to whispering in his ear.

Yan Xia responded using the same method.

"Based on my observations, the main body of this border city is the virtual world, and the real world is just a factory."

Ella understood immediately and quickly calculated something.

"That makes sense."

"Beneath this seemingly ordinary city lies a vast and complex virtual space, and the real world is just a factory for the virtual world."

"Yan Xia, what do you think this place resembles?"

Chu had told Yan Xia that this was a city for living and entertainment, but Yan Xia didn't believe a word of it.

Even if one were to consider it from the perspective of an alien civilization, this place couldn't be a city dedicated to living. If the main body were the virtual world, there would be no need to build such a massive city in the real world, and this city didn't seem to collect stellar energy.

Chu had said there were no factories here, but that was clearly a lie.

This factory stored a vast amount of energy and might even have a massive energy-generating machine to power the entire /Border City.

Yan Xia voiced his thoughts, but Ella had a different opinion.

"There aren't many resources here. Why would the Olive Branch Civilization build such a massive city?"

"We haven't seen many spaceships docked at the interstellar port, which is very unusual. Logically, this city should be able to accommodate billions of lifeforms, and the total number of their spaceships should exceed hundreds of billions."

But there were none, and this was the biggest mystery.

Unless the lifeforms in this city didn't need to move.

Yan Xia saw through it immediately.

"Are you saying this city can move?"

If the city could move, there would be no need for many spaceships.

Yan Xia considered a possibility: this city might not be a city at all but a massive battleship.

Everything would make sense then.

"But where are the weapons?" Yan Xia asked, immediately realizing the absurdity of his question.

The entire /Border City was modular, which meant it could transform into any shape.

"Is the ruler of this border city truly its ruler?"

This was the ultimate question.

Yan Xia and Ella exchanged glances, and without needing to communicate, they knew what the other was thinking.

If it were just a city, Yan Xia wouldn't be surprised to find such a place in a Level 2.4 civilization. However, if it were a battleship, the energy and technological requirements would be on a completely different level.

Driving such a massive battleship would require an astronomical amount of energy, and the supporting technology would need to be extremely advanced.

Even for a Level 2.4 civilization, building such a gigantic battleship would be a challenging task, and they might have to invest a significant portion of their resources.

Perhaps /Border City was the center of the Olive Branch Civilization.

This was a bold guess, but not impossible, unless there was another structure as massive as /Border City.

"There are too many reasonable explanations."

"Let's observe for now. If it's a battleship, then they should be implementing military management, and we'll have to change our initial plan."

In a military camp, the information you receive is what they want you to know, and the lifeforms you encounter are those they want you to meet.

This was not in their favor.

"Yan Xia, let's have some of our soldiers leave this place, and you can leave with them. A clone will be enough to stay here." Ella suggested.

Yan Xia thought about it and decided to stick to his initial judgment.

He wasn't being stubborn, but he had the ability to do so.

They were in a passive position, not a position of choice. If they had a choice, Yan Xia wouldn't have come here, but facing a more powerful civilization, they had to be proactive to achieve the best outcome.

"Even a piece of steel has its weaknesses, and even if the Olive Branch Civilization is a collective consciousness, there will be problems that we can understand."

"Pay close attention to your surroundings and gather as much useful information as possible."

The Olive Branch Civilization was the most challenging civilization Yan Xia had encountered.

Now, the real game begins.
