Capítulo 36: Tigers Can Be Cute

Chapter - 36

"I don't like seeing you like this," Eileithyia murmured softly, her brows drawn together in a worried line as she gazed at me.

"Come on, it's really not that bad," I replied, giving her a reassuring smile. "These bruises are just part of the journey if I want to become a strong adventurer." I leaned forward, planting a gentle kiss on her neck, my lips grazing the delicate skin as I felt her warmth against me.

Eileithyia shifted slightly in my lap, her ass pressing against my hardened cock underneath her, which was nestled in the crack of her ass. She gave a light, almost involuntary shiver. "Callum," she scolded gently, "I told you, no moving. You're going to make me smudge my drawing." Despite her words, there was a smile tugging at the corners of her mouth.

We were nestled together on our bench beneath the soft shade of the old tree, our very own sanctuary. Eileithyia sat in my lap, her back pressed against my chest, her shoulders soft under my hands as I wrapped my arms around her waist, holding her close. She had her sketchpad propped up on her knees, and she was intently focused on drawing a pair of tiger cubs, their little paws raised in playful swipes.

"Sorry, but it's hard to resist when I've got you right here in my arms," I teased, resting my chin on her shoulder as I snuck a look at her work. "You know," I said, grinning, "I never thought I'd see someone make tigers look cute. Aren't they supposed to be fearsome and wild?"

She huffed softly, her tone light and teasing. "They're as cute as I want them to be. In my world, tigers can be as adorable as kittens if I say so." Her playful side had blossomed so much since we'd grown close. Gone was the goddess I'd first met—cold and indifferent. Now I got to see Eileithyia's warm, spirited side, the side that wasn't afraid to laugh, to argue, or to be a little stubborn. The more I saw, the deeper I fell.

But her smile faded slightly as she tilted her head back to look at me, her expression turning serious. "And don't think I don't know what you're doing," she said, eyes narrowing. "Trying to change the subject." She took my hand in hers, her fingers tracing over my knuckles, then pressing into the tender spots where my recent injuries had left their marks. "It hurts me whenever I see you like this, Callum. Promise me you'll be careful, or else I'll have to give you a real lesson on why you should listen." She raised her fist in mock threat, but there was warmth in her eyes.

I couldn't hold back a chuckle, and with a mischievous smile, I gently took her hand, pressing a kiss to her knuckles. Then, catching her by surprise, I leaned in and brushed my lips against hers, savoring the warmth and softness. My hand slid to the nape of her neck, fingers threading through her chestnut hair as I pulled her closer, deepening the kiss.

She melted against me, her lips soft and welcoming, her gentle sighs making my heart race. We pulled away, both of us breathless, only for me to lean in again, my lips seeking hers with an urgency that I could no longer control. I could feel her heartbeat racing against my chest, matching my own.

Finally, we broke apart, our foreheads pressed together as we caught our breaths, her cheeks flushed and her lips swollen from our kiss. She stared at me, her eyes shining with a mix of love and something deeper, something that made me feel like the luckiest person in any world.

"That… wasn't fair," she whispered, a bit dazed.

Laughing, I released her just enough to let her settle back on my lap. "Sorry," I said, my tone anything but apologetic. "Can't help it since I'm utterly captivated."

She gave a huff of mock exasperation and turned back to her drawing, though I caught the slight smile still tugging at her lips.

After a few quiet moments, I murmur, "Ares has been a lot more focused on me in class since our team won the trial. He pushes me pretty hard, which is why I've been coming back with more bruises than usual. But honestly? I appreciate it. The training's helping me grow stronger faster than I ever thought possible."

Eileithyia pauses, considering my words, and then looks back at me with soft concern. "I could talk to him, you know," she says slowly. "Maybe he'd ease up a little if I asked."

I knew she was offering despite the complicated family history between them. Eileithyia's gentle nature stood in stark contrast to the gods' intense, sometimes brutal, dynamics. Her father, Zeus, was a notorious philanderer and left a trail of broken women and jealous rivalries. Her mother, Hera, on the other hand was known for her bitterness toward any woman her husband strayed toward, rather than blame her husband who failed to keep his dick in his pants. From the little she'd shared, I could tell that Eileithyia's warmth and kindness set her apart—and it likely made fitting into her family challenging.

"No, really, it's okay," I said, giving her hand a reassuring squeeze. "I can handle it. I don't want you to worry. But thank you for wanting to help. It means a lot."

She gave me a small, tender smile, but her gaze lingered on me. I took the opportunity to lean close, lowering my voice to a whisper by her ear. "I love you, Eileithyia," I murmured softly. "More than anything in this world. You're mine, forever and ever."

Her lips parted, and her cheeks turned a beautiful shade of pink. I could see her biting her lip as she tried to compose herself, a small, blissful moan slipping through as she failed to hold back entirely. She was nearly finished with her sketch, but I could tell by the look in her eyes that she was debating whether to finish it or to give in to the pull between us right here and now.

I couldn't help but grin at her internal struggle. I knew that every word of affection, every look, and every touch drove her just as wild as it did me.

"If you keep looking at me like that, love, I'm going to end up dying from an overload of cuteness before any monsters from the Celestial Gate even get close to me," I teased, brushing a gentle kiss against her cheek.

She laughed, her voice a little breathless, and swatted at me with the back of her hand, though her gaze softened even more, her eyes holding that unmistakable gleam of love. "All right, mister 'forever and ever'—sit still for just one more minute while I finish these last few lines," she said, smiling. Then, with a slightly mischievous look, she added, "Or I'll have no choice but to drag you off myself."

I chuckled, holding her even closer as I looked over her shoulder to watch her sketch the final details. She finished with a delicate, flourishing stroke and beamed at her work—a pair of tiger cubs, pawing playfully at each other, their expressions just as adorable as she'd intended.

"See? Tigers can be cute," she declared proudly, holding up the finished sketch for my approval.

I couldn't help but smile as I studied the drawing. "You're right. I'd never have guessed tigers could be this charming… but then again, you're always proving me wrong."

She laughed, leaning back against me, her fingers lacing through mine as we sat in the warm, golden afternoon light, her head nestled against my shoulder. We stayed like that for a while, simply savoring the moment, with nothing but the quiet sounds of the world around us and the warmth of each other's presence.
