I breathed out, allowing the bag to fall to the floor while holding my hands up. But that seemed to anger her, as she growled viciously and took two menacing steps toward me.

Without wasting another second, I darted to the nearest closet, throwing myself inside and shutting the door with a muted click. I huddled against the wall, trying to steady my breathing. I could hear her heavy footsteps echoing through the room. The noise of her rampage was deafening.

Through the slits in the closet door, I watched in horror as her claws slashed at anything in her path. A crash sounded, and I winced as I watched her tearing through our belongings. A guttural growl filled the space, followed by the shattering of glass, and I caught a glimpse of her crushing my framed picture with her claw.
