The group moved on, the carriage wheels creaking faintly as it rolled over uneven terrain. This time Nila and Laila rode together while Cyrus rode on a horse.

The carriage was filled with laughter as the ladies made fun of each other's love life, one being too progressive and the other one not progressing at all.

When the group took a stop near a rest area, Aleena approached Laila and Nila,

"Laila, why don't you ride in the carriage with Victor for a bit?" she suggested, her tone casual but her eyes sparkling with intention. "Nila will be fine with me for now."

Laila hesitated, glancing toward Nila for approval. When the young noblewoman nodded with an amused smile, Laila sighed. "As you wish, Lady Nila," she murmured, dipping into a slight curtsy before heading toward the carriage.

Victor, who had been adjusting the straps on his pack, blinked in surprise. "Oh, uh, sure," he mumbled, scrambling to climb in after her.
