Even though I berated myself for what I said to Edwina, I didn't really regret telling her those words.
I had meant to anyway. It was only a matter of time. What I disliked was the fact that I did it in public, putting her in the spotlight rather than be covert about it in the first place.
She caused it though. Edwina should have not pestered me right there. It took all of my willpower to attend that party, knowing she would be there.
And the moment she stepped into the room was the moment my body turned into a furnace. Our eyes met, and I knew I had to leave. Run far away from her before I let my feelings ruin her.
But she had cornered me, and like a wounded animal, I did what I should not have done. I attacked. I attacked and left.
Edwina must have been so embarrassed after I stormed out on her, and it pained me that I had to do that to her.
And to our son.
