Capítulo 33: A Sleeping Curse

When I went to visit Karina, she greeted me with an unusual and somber revelation.

"My friend... she won't wake up. No matter what we try."

"Really? A deep sleep spell? Or maybe poison?" I mused, considering the possibilities.

Karina's face was shadowed with concern, and seeing her that way stirred a sense of resolve. I decided to investigate, but without a clear idea of the cause, I couldn't just march into her friend's room. Not only would I lack a legitimate excuse, but they'd hardly allow a man who wasn't a doctor into a young woman's bedroom.

I predicted this investigation might hit a few roadblocks.

First, I dispatched Phantom in his cloaked form to gather some preliminary intel.

"No visible injuries from what I could see, boss. As for the cause, I've got nothing," he reported.

"Not surprising; we're not specialists, after all."
