Damien
I'm halfway through a conversation with Lea when a sinking feeling hits me. It's like ice crawling through my veins, an instinct I've learned to trust over the years. I glance toward the hallway where Riley went, expecting her to reappear at any moment. But she doesn't.
Something's wrong.
I look around the room and, when my gaze lands on Callum's table, I realize he's not there either. He left his new little pet at the table, but he's nowhere to be seen, and a dark, cold fear settles over me.
He wouldn't have tried anything… would he?
But Callum's been unpredictable, unhinged even. And right now, I don't care what he would or wouldn't do. I only know one thing: I need to get to Riley.
