Troy sat in the center of the room, his body still aching from the intense data transfer. The pain had dulled, but his mind buzzed with new information. The flood of knowledge that had nearly torn him apart was now settling, piece by piece, into something coherent. It was overwhelming—far more than he could have imagined—but he had survived it. I can handle it, he had told himself, and he had.
Now came the task of consolidating it all.
He focused, closing his eyes and letting the knowledge organize itself. His brain, still pulsing from the strain, sifted through the raw data like a machine sorting through files. Slowly, the chaotic storm of information began to take shape, unraveling into something he could understand.
The first thing that stood out was the structure of power in Base 1: the six realms.
The Six Realms of Power
Troy's mind latched onto the concept of the six realms. They were the key to understanding this world, the levels of strength that governed everything in Base 1. Each stage represented a profound leap in control and power, and most importantly, they determined who thrived and who struggled. The structure was rigid, and each realm opened new abilities and understanding.
Body Stage
At the most basic level, there was the Body Stage. This was where people first learned to harness mental energy to enhance their physical abilities. It was more than just strength—it was control. Muscles became finely tuned, reflexes sharper, movements more precise. The people in this stage were stronger, faster, more efficient, but it was only the beginning.
Troy understood this stage easily. He had felt it in himself after ascending—his body had already started adapting, becoming more attuned to his own commands. Every movement he made felt smoother, more controlled. It was the foundation of everything that came next.
Mind Stage
The Mind Stage was the second realm. Here, the control extended beyond the body and into the mind itself. It was at this stage that neurosyncers developed telepathic abilities—the ability to communicate without words, to sense the thoughts and intentions of others. A sixth sense, a heightened awareness of the world around them.
Troy realized he was already displaying aspects of this stage. His ability to communicate telepathically had come naturally, even without training or neurosync tech. But he was still far from mastering it. The Mind Stage wasn't just about raw ability—it was about refining that power, sharpening it into something precise and deadly.
Mind Actualization Phase
The Mind Actualization Phase was where things became more profound. At this stage, neurosyncers awakened their unique abilities—powers that were tied to their very being. Troy's pulse quickened. He had no idea what his ability would be, but the idea of having a power tied to his identity intrigued him. He pushed the thought aside for now, knowing that reaching this phase would be a long process.

At this level, neurosyncers didn't just communicate telepathically or use their abilities—they could influence the physical world around them with their minds alone. A base-level Elite could destroy mountains with a thought. The sheer mental strength required to wield such power was beyond anything Troy had ever imagined.
He shuddered, realizing how far he had to go. People at this stage were true powerhouses, capable of shaping the world as they saw fit. They could reshape landscapes, bend reality, and their influence stretched far beyond the limits of the physical.
Law Consolidation Phase
The Law Consolidation Phase was something else entirely. Here, a neurosyncer's ability—whatever it was—began to solidify into something more fundamental, more permanent. It became a law—an unbreakable, intrinsic force that required far less mental energy to maintain. These laws weren't just abilities anymore; they were part of the very nature of Base 1 itself.
Troy's mind reeled at the implications. Once a neurosyncer reached this phase, their abilities weren't just powers—they were truths. They bent the fabric of the world to their will, altering reality on a fundamental level. The idea of someone having this kind of power, being able to change the laws of the world, made him feel both awe and fear.
Law Actualization Phase
Finally, there was the Law Actualization Phase—the pinnacle of power in Base 1. At this stage, neurosyncers weren't just manipulating their personal law; they became their law. Their presence alone could alter the world, and they possessed god-like abilities. These were the individuals who could survive in the vacuum of space, wield planetary-level power, and transcend the limitations of both Base 1 and Base 0.
These neurosyncers were the ones chosen to ascend to Base 2—the realm beyond, where the five gods exist . They were the apex, the very definition of ultimate power. To reach this stage was to step into the realm of the divine.
Troy felt a shiver run down his spine. Planetary power. These people could bend the universe to their will. The sheer scale of it was hard to comprehend. But even more surprising was the next piece of information that solidified in his mind, standing out like a sharp note in a sea of noise.
The abilities gained in Base 1 also apply in Base 0.
Troy's eyes snapped open, his mind buzzing with the realization. It was the most shocking piece of knowledge he had learned so far. The abilities a person developed in Base 1 weren't confined to this realm. They carried over into Base 0 as well. That means people in Base 0, back where I came from, could wield this kind of power.
He sat there, letting the weight of the information settle. If someone could destroy mountains or reshape reality in Base 1, they could do the same in Base 0. The implications were staggering. It explained so much about why the gods, those who ascended to Base 2, maintained such strict control over who could ascend. It also explained why Base 0 was a battleground for power, even among those who hadn't ascended yet. If abilities could be used across both realms, it meant that someone could rise to god-like power in Base 0 if they were strong enough in Base 1.
Troy rubbed his temples, the remnants of the pain from the download still lingering. This was a lot to process. The sheer scale of power that existed in Base 1, the possibility of carrying that power back to Base 0, the rigid hierarchy of realms—it was overwhelming. But it also gave him a sense of direction.
He was far behind, there was no question about that. But now, at least, he understood the path forward. He knew what he needed to achieve, what he needed to become if he ever hoped to escape the fate of being nothing more than a discarded experiment.
The six realms. That was his goal. He would climb them, one by one, until he reached the top. Until he had the power to carve his own place in this world.
Troy stood from the bed, his mind clearer than it had been in days. The knowledge was still settling, still coalescing, but the foundation was there. He understood the rules of this world now.
He wasn't some nameless, forgotten experiment anymore. He was someone on the path to power. And now, with the knowledge of the six realms, he knew exactly where that path would lead.
