Capítulo 4: Chapter 4

Flying through the air was a welcome reprieve, a soothing escape from the chaos below. Sure, he could have walked, but that would only invite a swarm of fans—a concept he had never considered. He was a Pro Hero, after all, someone whose purpose was to save lives, not to bask in the adoration of crowds.

Surprisingly, the backlash from his earlier scare tactic never materialized. People labeled him reckless, and life went on as usual. While some voices expressed their hatred, Faruzan simply brushed it off, reminding him, "There are critics, and then there are haters."

He didn't understand social media…

Looking down at the city below him, he noticed a burning building.

"What idiot would do this?" Wanderer growled and shot towards the building.

"Someone call the fire department!" A civilian screamed.

Endeavor, the number two hero, was trying to cool down after an intense battle with a villain that had left a nearby building in flames. The aftermath had turned chaotic, with police desperately attempting to keep the crowd at bay while Endeavor fought to regain control of his overheated body from using excessive firepower.

He gritted his teeth in frustration. He had already called for his sidekicks, but time was of the essence—there were still people trapped inside the burning structure.

"Up there!" a woman cried, pointing towards the sky.

Everyone turned to see a swirling ball of wind dive through one of the building's shattered windows.

Endeavor slowly pushed himself to his feet, ready to rush in, but before he could take a step, the building erupted in a deafening explosion. The windball burst forth from the debris and landed directly in front of him.

As the gust of wind dissipated, Wanderer emerged, effortlessly carrying two people on his back while cradling another in his arms.

"Get these people medical attention!" he barked at the nearest officers, who sprang into action without hesitation.

Wanderer turned his gaze toward Endeavor, a scowl etched on his face. "Collateral damage?" he asked, gesturing to the wreckage around them.

With a swift motion, he sent a wind blade slicing through a nearby fire hydrant, severing the side and allowing water to shoot out in a powerful stream. Using wind currents, he redirected the water toward himself, soaring into the sky and releasing it like a torrential downpour over the surrounding area.

Endeavor clenched his jaw, irritation bubbling beneath the surface. This upstart had the gall to-

As Wanderer landed in front of the now-smoldering building, he took a deep breath, meeting Endeavor's gaze, now cool and collected.

"I had it handled," Endeavor asserted in an authoritative tone, standing tall against the young man.

"Handled? Is this what you consider 'handled'?" Wanderer retorted, gesturing dramatically to the wreckage with a wave of his arm.

Endeavor growled, momentarily at a loss for a retort.

With a scoff, Wanderer turned away, dismissal in his demeanor. "Number two, huh?" he muttered, launching himself into the sky to search for more crime.

"Sir?" Kiddo approached, finally arriving with a fire extinguisher in hand. He aimed it at Endeavor and sprayed him down, helping to cool his still-burning form.

"… Let's go," Endeavor said tersely, turning on his heel and striding away, the weight of the encounter lingering in the air.

"Welcome to Good Morning Japan!" a cheerful female news anchor beamed at the camera. "I'm Fubuki Jinaro."

"And I'm Daichi Goru," the male anchor chimed in, matching her bright smile.

"Our top story today focuses on the new hero who has been creating quite a stir in the hero community. Known only as Wanderer, he's making headlines six months after his debut, and there are rumors he may break into the top 10 of this year's hero rankings," Fubuki announced, glancing at her co-anchor. "Daichi, how is this even possible?"

"Well, it's clear the man doesn't sleep!" Daichi replied, his enthusiasm evident. "Day in and day out, he's soaring across Japan, stopping crime wherever he finds it. He's also managed to close a significant number of cases—though not quite as many as Endeavor, he's certainly getting close!"

"What do we really know about this mysterious hero?" Fubuki posed the question that was on everyone's minds.

"Almost nothing!" Daichi exclaimed. "He's an absolute enigma. The only insights we have come from his battles and the occasional glimpses of him walking through the streets. In fact, we tried to catch up with him just yesterday." With a press of a button, the screen shifted to footage of a camera crew approaching Wanderer as he signed autographs for fans.

"Wanderer! Where exactly are you from?" one reporter asked eagerly.

"Japan," Wanderer replied, his gaze fixed ahead, avoiding direct eye contact with the camera.

"Where in Japan?" the reporter pressed.

"I have somewhere to be," the hero said tersely, tipping his hat as he prepared to leave.

"Wait, one more—" But before the reporter could finish, Wanderer shot into the sky, leaving them in awe.

The screen cut back to the two anchors. "He's certainly not one for chit-chat, is he?" Daichi remarked with a raised eyebrow.

"No, but that seems to add to his charm! Many people find it appealing; they're calling him a 'bad boy'… which I must admit, I can see why," Fubuki giggled, a light blush creeping onto her cheeks. "He even has a fan club now!"

Daichi stared at her, then cleared his throat. "Well, let's turn now to Sayuri for the latest weather updates."

"You are quite the scholar Madam Faruzan." Nezu sipped his tea.

The principal of UA paid the agency a visit. Faruzan was interested in meeting the mysterious principal.

The two hit it off, with Nezu knowing about their predicament and Faruzan being a scholar of the Akademya of Sumeru, safe to say that they quickly became good friends.

"Oh you flatter me Principal Nezu, you are quite intelligent yourself, with your quirk, I bet you could take the position of Grand Sage in no time." Faruzan sipped her tea as well, the two were in Wanderer's office, the hero was sitting behind his desk watching the two sit on his couch and interact over a cup of tea that was sweet for his taste.

Wanderer's eyes twitched in annoyance as he went through his paperwork, thankfully, he was careful not to cause any collateral damage, thus not needing to pay for any repairs.

But there was always the possibility of something happening and needing to pay for repairs.

His new legal team did wonders when it came to people trying to sue him for small things.

Like the fact that he flew past a store and the wind blew away some newspaper all over.

It was stupid but it was product that was being sold so it held until his legal team got to it.

He looked up and rolled his eyes as the two banes of his existence continued their chat.

===========================

Wanderer was responding to Crust's request for back up against a man with a quirk that controls people like puppets, calling himself Dictator.

What a nuisance…

Wanderer flew onto the scene and saw Crust, a hero who used shields, trying to get past the civilians that were being controlled.

Wanderer spoke up. "Where is the puppeteer?"

"Wanderer?! You have great timing!!" Crust called out as he used his shields to push civilians back. "He's probably hiding in the masses! How unmanly! I would be able to get to him if I could fly like you!"

Grunting in confirmation, Wanderer soared high above the chaos, scanning the crowd

below until his sharp gaze landed on a short man in a mask, his fingers waving erratically as he manipulated the controlled civilians to wreak havoc.

"Found you," Wanderer muttered, narrowing his eyes with dangerous glint.

"Wind bullet!" With a fluid motion, the wind

hero executed a graceful flip and unleashed a powerful wave of compressed air aimed directly at the villain's head. The masked man quickly sensed the danger, raising the controlled civilians like human shields to deflect the attack.

Wanderer dispersed the wind bullet just in time, his focus sharpening. Clicking his tongue, "Damn coward," he flew forward, flicking his finger upward. A surge of powerful wind erupted around the villain, lifting him and the surrounding civilians off the ground in a swirling vortex.

As the masked figure spun helplessly in the air, Wanderer glared at him. He burst forward, his fist imbued with wind, and landed a devastating blow to the villain's stomach. The impact sent the man flying backward, and Wanderer quickly followed up with two razor-sharp wind slices, striking the villain and propelling him through the wall of a nearby building with a resounding

crash.

With the immediate threat neutralized, Wanderer's attention shifted to the civilians

who began to collapse, their control severed as if the strings of puppets had been cut. He gently lowered the airborne civilians back to safety, ensuring they landed softly on the ground.

Wanderer landed in front of Crust. "Any casualties?" He asked.

"None that I can see!" Crust had this large grin that annoyed him to no ends.

"Good, watch over Dictator." With that, the wind hero flew into the sky once more.

"... I wish I could fly!" Crust kept his grin as he walked over to the downed villain.

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"Yes."

"No!"

"No."

"..."

"Reverse psychology doesn't work on me," Wanderer stated flatly, his gaze fixed on the paperwork sprawled across his desk.

Faruzan sighed dramatically, perched on the edge of his desk, her arms crossed. "You need to get out more!"

"I go out plenty," Wanderer replied, his fingers dancing over the keyboard as he continued his work.

" For Hero work! Not even going back to your apartment to sleep!" she exclaimed, frustration lacing her voice. "I swear, you're a robot!"

Wanderer blinked, considering her words. She wasn't too far off the mark...

"You need to take a break before you crash," Faruzan insisted, her tone serious as she leaned forward, her hands planted firmly on the desk.

"I do not require a break," he shot back, finally finishing the paperwork with a flourish before standing up.

"Yes, you do! Everyone needs a break! Even I take time off occasionally!" Faruzan gestured emphatically, her exasperation growing. "You aren't an exception!"

"Cut me some slack; I'm trying to do my best at my job," Wanderer groaned, running a hand through his hair in frustration.

"Well then, start taking breaks," she replied slowly, as if speaking to a child.

"…Fine." He relented, feeling the weight of her insistence. She could be a pain sometimes, but her efficiency was undeniable. Even if she wasn't from Teyvat, he couldn't bring himself to get rid of her.

===========================

Maybe she had a point about relaxation…

Wanderer was in a tea shop, sipping on some piping hot tea with some crackers on the side.

He was wearing a blue hoodie with a face mask. Nothing too obvious, he enjoyed the quiet atmosphere.

The shop itself was somewhat empty, he took some pleasure from the peace.

Checking his phone, he started going through the news.

All Might was going around Tokyo, helping the police and saving people.

If this kept up, people would become over reliant on the man. He was human after all.

… Wait, wasn't that what he was doing?

He went around, helping people, solving cases, not just in one city but all of Japan.

Sure, he was searching for leads on how to get back to Teyvat but the job was a necessity to earn income and permission to use his abilities…

He sighed, he was a puppet, he would be around quite a while… although people will question that…

No matter, he'll probably find a way back in a year's time.
