After finding a chance to store Zi Huo back into his Beast Ring and settling Qing Lin, Mo Yu finally turned his attention to the Mo family's treasury. As for the various cultivation techniques, Dou Techniques, and pills stored by the Mo family, Mo Yu wasn't interested, as he had no intention of forming his own faction for now. However, the mid-to-high-grade magic cores were something he definitely needed.
According to the prior arrangement with the Ye family, Mo Yu was entitled to a 40% share of the Mo family's treasury. Although Mo Yu was just one person, no one in the Ye family objected to this. Everyone understood that the Ye family's rise to replace the Mo family was entirely due to Mo Yu's contributions.
Under Ye Fan's guidance, Mo Yu and Ye Cong arrived at the Mo family's rear mountain.
After walking along a short mountain path, they soon stopped in front of a cave entrance. From here, faint lights could be seen emanating from within the cave. The stone walls around the cave entrance were adorned with carvings of magical beasts, giving off a menacing aura. However, such superficial intimidation meant little to Ye Fan and the others.
Ye Fan led the way at the front, as he had the strongest cultivation among them at the Dou Ling level. Although he had been in a tussle with Mo Cheng earlier, it hadn't drained much of his strength. Now, not knowing what traps might lie within the cave, it made sense for him to go first.
Inside the cave, a long stone staircase led downward into faint darkness, making it difficult to see the end. The surrounding stone walls were embedded with faintly glowing moonstones, which dispelled some of the darkness inside.
They descended the stone steps slowly, taking around ten minutes to reach the bottom. At the end of the staircase, a heavy, tightly sealed stone door awaited them.
The black stone door was covered in moss, and a sense of age and heaviness lingered over it.
Seeing this, Ye Fan chuckled lightly. His withered hand pressed against the door, and his eyes turned sharp as a vast, mountain-splitting Dou Qi surged from his arm, slamming into the stone door with a loud crash.
Boom!
Amidst flying rubble, cracks instantly spread across the door, which collapsed with a deafening sound. Blinding light suddenly burst forth from inside.
As the intense light flashed out, everyone instinctively squinted their eyes. Mo Yu's expression quickly changed, and he shouted, "Old Master Ye, watch out!"
Just as Mo Yu's shout rang out, a foul wind shot out from behind the stone door, the fierce gust aimed directly at Ye Fan, who stood in front.
"Hmph!"
The sudden change didn't faze Ye Fan. With a cold snort, his treasured sword flashed with white light, and a powerful wave of sword energy surged forward. He slashed hard, sending a sharp gust reverberating through the cave.
Bang!
The sword energy shot forward like a tidal wave, smashing into the attacking figure. Mo Yu and the others heard a shrill screech as the enormous silhouette was sent hurtling backward, crashing heavily into the ground.
After driving back the attacker, Ye Fan swung his Sixfold Grand Void Sword again, dispersing the dust and revealing the space behind the stone door.
Before Mo Yu and the others lay a spacious storeroom, brightly lit. The walls were entirely constructed from hard black ironstone, making it look as if the treasury had been carved directly out of an ironstone vein.
The room was filled with numerous shelves, lined with rows of scrolls. On the other side, there were many crystal cabinets, which held various rare medicinal herbs carefully placed inside.
As Mo Yu's gaze swept across the room, it landed on a giant, strange wolf-like magical beast in the corner. Clearly, it was the one that had attacked them earlier.
Oddly, the front half of the creature was that of a wolf, while its lower half was a coiled serpent's tail—evidently, this beast had also been altered!
"A peak Da Dou Shi-level magical beast dares to ambush me?" Ye Fan chuckled as he walked into the treasury. Glancing at the strange beast, which growled fiercely at them with its serpent's tail coiled, he smiled faintly.
"It must be the guardian of this place," Mo Yu remarked, frowning slightly. The Mo family was truly reckless—researching even third-tier magical beasts like this must have taken considerable effort.
Mo Yu only cast a brief glance at the beast before focusing on the treasury itself. Seeing the large number of scrolls, a hint of disdain crossed his eyes, and he sneered, "For such an old and established family, their collection is unimpressive."
"These have all been categorized and sorted," Ye Fan said as he approached a bookshelf. His face lit up with joy as he looked at the "Huang Class High" label on the shelf.
Cultivation techniques and Dou Techniques were the ultimate pursuit of all cultivators on the Dou Qi Continent and served as the foundation of any faction. The Mo family's decades-old collection would now fall into the hands of the Ye family.
While Mo Yu wasn't interested in the cultivation techniques, the Ye family desperately needed them. If they could assimilate the Mo family's techniques successfully, the number of experts in the Ye family could very well double.
"Patriarch Ye, I'm not interested in these Dou Techniques or cultivation methods. How about I exchange my share entirely for magic cores?" Mo Yu pointed to a corner where various grades of magic cores were piled up.
Among the pile, a deep red core stood out—it was a fourth-tier magic core.
Ye Cong thought for a moment before nodding. Although magic cores were valuable, the Ye family's immediate need was for techniques and Dou Techniques. An exchange with Mo Yu wouldn't put them at a loss.
Mo Yu nodded slightly and continued to walk deeper into the treasury. He had no interest in the common Xuan Class techniques or cultivation methods. Instead, he was curious if the Mo family possessed anything that might surprise even him.
Roar!
As Mo Yu and the others searched the treasury without restraint, the blue-furred giant wolf-serpent reared up, roaring angrily. Its serpent tail whipped through the air, striking fiercely toward them.
Swish!
Before it could get close, a flash of white light sliced through the air. Ye Fan, with a swift motion of his hand, directed the sword energy from his Sixfold Grand Void Sword, which sliced cleanly through the giant wolf-serpent's throat.
Mo Yu paid little attention to the beast's death, continuing deeper into the room. Before he realized it, he found himself standing in front of a bookshelf at the far end of the room.
This bookshelf was different from the others; it was surrounded by a faint light barrier. The energy radiating from within the barrier made Mo Yu's eyes gleam with curiosity. Indeed, valuable items always had a touch of uniqueness.
A thought crossed Mo Yu's mind, but he didn't rush to break through the barrier. He carefully observed the surroundings until his gaze fell on a few simple words etched above the bookshelf.
"Transplantation Technique Manual"
