Capítulo 115: Chapter 115 (edited)

If Kara wanted to, the big-headed figure had no chance of escaping.

But Kara watched him run away.

The reason? The big-headed figure wasn't important. Through him, Kara might have noticed something far more significant behind him. Was it an octopus?

Kara wasn't entirely sure if it was an octopus, but she could tell it was something terrifying, something that could threaten the life and survival of Earth itself.

So, the big-headed figure ran.

Then Kara turned her attention to Amanda Waller and Senator Hammond beside her.

Without warning, Kara made a swift move, raising her hands and grabbing both of their heads with a speed that left no room for reaction.

"Kara?" Dani exclaimed.

"I won't harm them, just make them forget about me," Kara said without turning back. "And you, Dani—stop calling my name, idiot! Why are you so careless about exposing your identity?"

This Dani is also real. She just called out Kara Kent by her full name.

Was she afraid someone might not figure out her identity?

Dani looked sheepish. "Then what should I call you? Looking at you now, aren't you supposed to be 'Oracle Woman' or something?"

"Oracle Woman?" Kara gave her an unimpressed look.

Dani continued, "You look more like a 'Female Superman.'"

"Female Superman, huh?" Kara muttered as she glanced over.

Dani asked sharply, "Why 'Female Superman'? Does that mean there's already a male Superman?"

Kara gave her a blank look, unwilling to answer.

"Clark?" Dani asked, watching Kara's expression closely.

Kara pretended not to hear her.

But Dani clapped her hands. "I knew it!"

"I haven't even reacted!" Kara said, exasperated.

"We've known each other for years, Kara. If I couldn't pick up on something this obvious, I wouldn't deserve to call myself your friend."

Kara sighed. Dani's love of detective novels and mysteries made her incredibly sharp, though it was unclear if that was a blessing or a curse.

After a moment, Kara released Amanda and Hammond. Her psychological suggestion had been implanted—they would remember nothing of what happened, nor would they recall the connection between Kara and "Female Superman."

"All right, I'm heading off for a bit. Deal with these two and find me when you're done," Kara said to Dani before flying toward the little green figure in the distance.

"So, you're the 'Oracle Woman,' huh? I've heard about you," the Green Lantern—Hal Jordan—said with obvious interest.

Kara gave him a sideways glance. "Are we going to talk here? Let's not make things difficult. Follow me."

With that, she took off into the skies.

Hal followed reluctantly.

Dani watched them go, then turned back to Amanda and Senator Hammond, beginning to explain the events they had supposedly witnessed—carefully piecing together a narrative to fill their erased memories.

Meanwhile, Kara and Hal reached the upper atmosphere above Seaside City. Without the prevalence of modern satellites, they didn't need to worry about being observed.

Introducing himself as Hal Jordan, he described his journey to becoming a Green Lantern. "I actually found that dead alien first—his name was Abin Sur. And this ring is…"

Before Hal could finish, the ring on his hand began to glow brightly as it faced Kara.

Hal looked down, startled. The green power ring seemed to want to leave him, as if sensing something more fitting in Kara. It struggled to break free from Hal's hand, darting toward Kara's left ring finger like a loyal pet reuniting with its true owner.

Kara clenched her fist just in time, causing the ring to hover in midair, its efforts thwarted.

She glanced down at the glowing ring with a blank expression before looking back at Hal, who was suddenly falling after reverting to his powerless human form. Kara caught him midair with telekinesis.

"What's going on?" Kara asked, genuinely curious.

Hal, visibly shaken, had no answer. He was still a novice Green Lantern and couldn't explain the ring's behavior.

As the ring returned to Hal and slid back onto his finger, he transformed once again. But when he pointed the ring at Kara to test its response, it remained dormant, as if the earlier incident had never occurred.

Kara crossed her arms, unimpressed. "Your ring seems pretty unstable. What if this happens in a fight? You'd be helpless."

Hal nodded, still shaken. "They told me this shouldn't happen. Once a ring chooses its wielder, it's supposed to remain loyal unless the wielder dies, gives it up, or proves unworthy."

Before Kara could respond, her super-vision picked up a streak of green light in the night sky. Another Green Lantern ring was heading straight for her.

Kara raised an eyebrow. "You've got to be kidding me."

The ring stopped in front of her, glowing faintly as if waiting for her to claim it.

Kara sighed and ignored it, turning her attention back to Hal. "Speaking of which, you never finished explaining what happened with that big-headed figure earlier."

Hal glanced between Kara and the glowing ring hovering nearby, unsure of what to make of the situation.

Kara, however, dismissed the distraction. She found the Green Lantern rings to be more trouble than they were worth—powerful tools, perhaps, but dependent on emotional spectrums and requiring constant recharging. She didn't need or want that kind of burden when her own powers far surpassed their capabilities.

As Kara and Hal continued their conversation, the night sky seemed to grow darker, a storm of challenges brewing on the horizon.
