Capítulo 50: 50. New Business Opportunities

Jon had heard plenty of rumors about Jason Liu before, and the people in Winterfell's market town only had good things to say about him.

Jason Liu knew exactly why the townspeople praised him so much. Just look at the 200 workers at his construction site who were paid well and fed every day.

Jason had spent a lot of money, and most families in the town had benefited from his generosity. Of course, they would speak highly of him.

To Jon, the lunch they had together, which was quite a feast, ended on a happy note.

No one drank any alcohol, as most of the group were young, and Jason himself didn't like drinking.

After a hearty meal and a short rest, Jon led McCann and the others in swordsmanship practice with full dedication.

Jason watched Jon's enthusiasm and felt pleased.

That afternoon, Jason gave Lena some instructions, then used his ability to teleport back to his modern-day warehouse.

He had been waiting for the delivery of black work uniforms he had ordered online. A total of 40 sets arrived, and he sent them over to his Westeros residence. After that, he returned to his villa.

Jason decided not to go back to Westeros that night and planned to rest at his villa instead.

However, after paying for the soap, food, and work uniforms, he noticed he had less than 30,000 yuan left in his account. He realized he needed to find a way to make more money.

He had previously thought of buying gold through a merchant from the western lands, and then selling it for gold coins. But the merchant was away, and with the poor travel conditions in Westeros, it could take months for him to return from the west.

Jason wondered if he should sell some gold dragon coins instead.

While pondering this, Jason lay on his luxurious sofa and checked the current gold prices online. A news story caught his attention.

A shepherd in Mongolia had found a 1.47-kilogram nugget of "dog head gold" while herding sheep. A buyer had offered 1 million yuan for it, but because the ownership wasn't confirmed, the shepherd didn't dare sell it.

Online, discussions about the ownership and rewards for rare finds like "dog head gold" and cultural artifacts were trending.

Seeing how valuable dog head gold was, Jason researched more about it. It turned out to be a naturally occurring gold nugget with large, irregular particles, often mixed with quartz. Its shape, resembling a dog's head, gave it the name. It was highly sought after by collectors and sold for several times the price of pure gold.

Jason realized something important—people in Westeros didn't understand the value of dog head gold. To them, it was just something to be melted down for the gold inside, making it less valuable than pure gold.

This gave Jason an idea: he could buy dog head gold from Westeros and sell it in the modern world for a huge profit.

Excited by this plan, Jason began hoping that Odover, the merchant would return soon, so he could start buying dog head gold from the west.

That night, he ordered takeout, stayed up late reading more about dog head gold, and finally went to bed.

The next day, Jason got up early, took a taxi to the nearest supermarket, and bought more supplies—flour, cooking oil, pork, beef, chicken, lamb, sugar, salt, bowls, chopsticks, and toilet paper.

Jason preferred using chopsticks, and although Lena and the others weren't used to them, they tried to learn because he used them.

He also bought apples, pears, grapes, oranges, watermelons, cucumbers, tomatoes, spinach, cauliflower, and peppers. Along with that, he picked up bags of candy and biscuits.

After spending tens of thousands of yuan, Jason didn't have much left in his account.

The supermarket manager offered free delivery to his warehouse and even gave Jason a premium membership card for discounts on future purchases.

Even though the discount wasn't huge, Jason liked saving money—it was good to be thrifty.

Jason also remembered the soap he had bought earlier, which had a strong fragrance. Worried about potential issues, he called the soap factory owner, Boss Ma, to check.

"Don't worry, Mr. Liu," Boss Ma reassured him. "The soap is perfectly safe and won't harm anyone."

Boss Ma was extremely grateful. "If it wasn't for your big order, my factory might have shut down. Thank you so much!"

"You're welcome. As long as the soap is safe and high-quality, I'll place an even bigger order next time," Jason replied, feeling reassured.

"That's great! I'll be waiting for your order. Come visit me in Wenzhou sometime, and I'll treat you to a meal!" Boss Ma said excitedly.

Jason knew that Wenzhou had one of the largest wholesale markets in the country, and he thought it might be useful to visit there for future bulk purchases for Westeros.

After hanging up, Jason sent all the newly bought supplies to Westeros, making several trips.

During this time, he began spreading word among the merchants that he was looking to buy dog head gold—offering the same price as pure gold.

This way, he knew the merchants would be eager to find and sell it to him.

His plan was coming together: use cheap goods from the modern world to earn gold dragons, then use those to buy dog head gold, and sell it back in the modern world for massive profits.

The potential earnings could multiply hundreds of times!

What a brilliant plan!
