Capítulo 21: Hold On

Zuri woke up in the middle of the night. The room wasn't dark. The light in Liam's workspace was still on, indicating that its owner was still working. 

Zuri quickly sat up from her lying position and leaned against the headboard. Right now, she was thinking about Simon. Was Simon angry at her for not contacting him yet? She had just gotten a cell phone, but unfortunately, she was still confused about how to use it, and Anya hadn't come to see her. Zuri was eager to contact Simon and ask how he was doing, the man she loved.

Zuri let out a long sigh. It felt like waiting for the sun to rise took a year, just so she could ask Anya how to use the phone.

"Why are you awake?" a deep voice startled Zuri. Lost in her thoughts, she hadn't realized that Liam was standing not far from her.

"I can't sleep. I want to see Simon, I miss him," Zuri said without hiding her feelings for Simon from Liam.
