Capítulo 56: Chapter 56: Delivered to the Doo

"These are quite good."

Rod nodded as his gaze fell on the pile of weapons in the room.

"I'll take them all."

The magical artifact, Sigh of the Undead, could unlock more weapon forms the more weapons it absorbed.

So, naturally, the more weapons, the better.

With millions of dollars in his account, Rod wasn't worried about spending money. After all, in normal circumstances, he couldn't spend it all anyway.

"All of them?"

The shop owner was momentarily stunned and couldn't help but offer a reminder.

"The weapons here are all handcrafted, so they're quite expensive. This one alone costs over a thousand dollars."

Rod glanced around at the weapons in the room. Including the armor and shields in the warehouse, there were only a few dozen pieces. Even if each one was priced at two thousand dollars, the total wouldn't exceed a hundred thousand.

"Charge it!"

Rod pulled out his card and placed it on the table.

A few thousand dollars? To him, that was hardly even considered money anymore.

The shop owner took a deep breath. After confirming that the young man in front of him wasn't joking, his face lit up with joy.

He never expected to sell off his entire inventory, which had taken years to accumulate, in one go.

Afraid that Rod might change his mind, the shop owner quickly accepted the payment and enthusiastically offered to deliver everything right to his doorstep.

His enthusiasm was a bit overwhelming for Rod .

"This is my card. If you ever need anything, feel free to contact me anytime."

Before leaving, the shop owner handed over a business card and eagerly promised that he could deliver goods at any time.

After all, he wanted to keep such a big client close. A single order like this was worth two or three years of income.

"Doug? Dog-bro?"

Rod looked at the name on the card with a strange expression.

The name matched the shop owner's quirky personality perfectly.

Shaking his head, Rod pulled out the ice-blue greatsword from his personal storage and touched it to the weapons with Sigh of the Undead.

Immediately, the ice-blue greatsword began to melt, transforming into a liquid that slowly devoured the weapons it touched. Its shape also gradually shifted to match that of the absorbed weapons.

After half an hour, Rod had successfully fused all the weapons into Sigh of the Undead.

"It still feels like something's missing."

Rod thought for a moment and then took out a cross necklace, fusing it with Sigh of the Undead.

The sword, which had taken on a greatsword form, instantly transformed into a necklace. The necklace emitted a holy aura, and at the same time, an icy chill that pierced the soul seemed to seep out unintentionally.

Rod was filled with awe.

He had to admit, the growth potential of this magical artifact was absolutely absurd.

No matter what it devoured, it could absorb the power and properties of that item.

In theory, this artifact had unlimited growth potential.

And the best part?

The powers and properties of the absorbed magical items weren't restricted to a single form—they could be stacked and combined into any one of its forms.

In other words, in its cross necklace form, it could simultaneously possess both holy power and frost power.

In its other weapon forms, it could also receive the benefits of these two powers.

If Rod could fuse it with even more magical artifacts, during battle he could gain the combined powers of multiple, even dozens of magical items.

How terrifying would that be?

As long as Sigh of the Undead could withstand it, there would be no theoretical limit to the weapon's power.

It was hard to imagine the level of alchemical mastery required to create such a magical artifact.

Looking back through the history of the fantasy world, there were likely only a handful of alchemists capable of such a feat.

If Rod were more confident in his ability to perfectly replicate this magical artifact, he would have sacrificed it just to gain insight into the knowledge of a top-tier alchemist.

"Knock, knock, knock!"

Suddenly, the door was knocked on.

Rod frowned, a little puzzled.

Who could it be?

Could it be Emma again?

That didn't seem right. He had just dealt with her yesterday, and after such a rough encounter, she shouldn't be recovering for at least two or three days.

Was she that eager to find him? Did she not fear the consequences of overdoing it?

Rod slipped into his slippers and walked to the door, peering through the peephole.

A nervous, flustered face, filled with mature charm, appeared before his eyes.

Tasha!

Rod was taken aback. What was this woman doing here all of a sudden?

Was she... desperate?

That didn't seem likely.

Sure, affairs were not exactly uncommon in the world, but he had never heard of a housewife sneaking around with her daughter in tow.

With these thoughts in mind, Rod opened the door.

A large and small figure stood before him.

"Um, can we stay at your place for the night?"

Tasha held her daughter's hand, nervously glancing over her shoulder as if something terrifying was following them.

Rod 's casual gaze sharpened slightly, and he noticed faint black energy emanating from the mother and daughter. The power of an evil spirit!

He looked in the direction of the villa, and in that instant, a semi-transparent black figure flickered on the second floor.

Whether it was an illusion or not, Rhode felt the evil aura surrounding the villa had grown even more intense than before.

"Did you encounter something strange?"

Rod asked casually.

Tessa bit her lip and slowly opened her hand.

In her palm, a small pile of black ash scattered into the wind.

"A charm," Rod muttered softly.

The charm had reacted, which meant these two had definitely been approached and attacked by an evil spirit.

Although normal people couldn't see hidden evil spirits, humans' sixth sense could still perceive their presence.

This woman was smart. If she had hesitated for even a moment during the evil spirit's attack, she likely wouldn't have escaped that gradually awakening haunted house.

Tasha looked at Rod with nervous eyes. She didn't even know why, after leaving the villa, she had come to him first.

Maybe it was because Rod had left a deep impression on her, giving her a sense of safety.

Or perhaps it was because the charm Rod had given her had proven useful.

Subconsciously, she felt this was the safest place to be.

Whatever the reason, the moment she saw Rod , her overwhelming tension began to ease.

It was... strange!
