Capítulo 204: Chapter 204: The Beauty of Rainbows

Although Melusine was a kind-hearted individual, she struggled with understanding words and colours. She yearned to see Morgan and Lott, which led her to the idea of living with them.

"OK!" she exclaimed eagerly.

Morgan, enthusiastic about the proposal, quickly agreed. "If I can be with Melusine, wouldn't that be even better? She's like a child to me."

Meanwhile, Lott, who had been quiet, remained noncommittal. After all, Morgan was still pregnant and couldn't take on too much herself. Lott thought it might be wise to abduct the little fairy with Morgan. As long as they managed to do that, dealing with the fairies would pose little difficulty.

"It's just that we need to find the Earth Clan fairies before we can build our house," Lott stated matter-of-factly.

"Good," Melusine nodded in agreement, joining Morgan and Lott's side.

At this moment, Nalia's demeanour became more subdued. Tonelico, the wandering fairy, was entirely different from Melusine, who was now very earnest.

As they continued walking, the sky suddenly darkened, and rain began to fall. The group quickly sought shelter from the downpour.

Amid the rain, Melusine's face lit up with an expression of hope.

"Huh? Lord Melusine likes the rain?" Leah asked curiously.

"No," Melusine shook her head slightly.

At that moment, Lott, who had been silent, spoke up. "After wind and rain, you will always see a brilliant rainbow."

Everyone turned to Lott in surprise. Until then, they had perceived him merely as a follower—someone who handled the hard work among them. His insight into something so profound startled them, especially Melusine.

Her small mouth parted in astonishment. "How did you know?" she asked, her surprise evident.

"You like rainbows, don't you?"

"Of course," Lott replied affirmatively.

[Rainbows are beautiful, but if I say I like them, it feels unrealistic.] He thought to himself. [Looking at Morgan's expression, I guess I'm trying to find a way to abduct you, Melusine. In my previous life, I've seen your voice; I know you adore rainbows.]

Morgan, overhearing his thoughts, smirked internally. "This silly dog only says things like this at the right moments. On regular rainy days, he prefers to hide under the quilt and sleep soundly. When the rainbow appears after the rain, he's still asleep. Yet here he is, proclaiming his love for rainbows..."

She understood why Lott spoke up; he wanted to bring Melusine closer to them. Previously, she had had to convey Lott's sentiments in a roundabout way, which could be quite cumbersome. Honest people like Nagarahad, Tristan, Bedivere, and Baobhan Sith were the exceptions, always straightforward, regardless of the circumstances.

[Honest people are a rarity!] Morgan mused, appreciating Lott's directness.

But then she pondered Lott's earlier remark about having "seen your voice." What did that mean? Had he encountered Melusine before? If so, she should have heard about it, not seen it. It felt as if someone had taken notes on Melusine's preferences, which was quite odd.

Morgan's curiosity piqued, but she set aside her confusion for now, choosing instead to observe how Lott handled the situation with Melusine.

"Do you like rainbows?" Melusine asked Lott, her excitement palpable.

"Well..." Lott paused, considering his words before answering with a smile. "I like rainbows. While they are merely the dispersion of light, they represent my yearning for beauty."

Melusine's eyes widened in awe. "You think so? It feels like you're saying what's in my heart!"

She had found a confidant in Lott, someone who understood her feelings. "What's your name?" she asked, looking at him with newfound admiration.

"This is a secret," Lott replied playfully. "If you want to know, you can call me 'Nameless.'"

"Nameless, okay!" Melusine nodded, her expression brightening.

Just then, the weather changed again. After a gust of wind and showers, the rain ceased, revealing a clear blue sky. A beautiful rainbow arched across the horizon.

"This rainbow is really beautiful!" Melusine exclaimed, her joy uncontainable as she twirled on the muddy ground.

"Uh-huh," Lott nodded, though inwardly he grumbled, [It's time to sleep, not to traipse around in this mud! If I weren't trying to abduct this little monster, I wouldn't be bothered with this.]

[Now I feel like I'm stuck in a karaoke bar with princesses. Thank goodness I didn't go when my friend called; I was too busy protecting my precious virginity! Life is tough!]

As he voiced his inner thoughts, Morgan raised an eyebrow, intrigued by his choice of words. What was "KTV" and "princess"? But she quickly recognized the positive spin he placed on things, noting how Lott had new friends in his life.

As Melusine gazed at the now-fading rainbow, a look of disappointment crossed her face. "It's too bad the beauty fades so quickly."

"Yes, good things do dissipate easily," Lott agreed, sharing her sentiment.

He continued, "If you see something beautiful, you must pursue it. Don't wait for it to fade away, or you'll end up regretting it."

Though the saying had been translated from Celtic and felt somewhat awkward, Melusine grasped its meaning, resonating deeply with her feelings.

At that moment, amidst the fading rainbow, they all understood the importance of cherishing beauty and the bonds they were forming, even in the face of uncertainty.
