Wayne shivered slightly, repulsed, and waved them off, "Get away, just get to the point—don't gross me out."
The twins exchanged glances and spoke in unison, "Wayne, can you teach us how to make those feather quills?"
Fred added, "Not for free, of course. Name your price and we'll scrape together the money, even if it means starving."
Cedric rolled his eyes, "The food at school is free."
"Shut it!"
George nudged him and turned back to look at Wayne eagerly.
Just the day before in the common room, they had seen Harry using a wash ink feather quill to finish his essay, and they were incredibly impressed.
The twins thought that making these items was incredibly interesting and felt as though they had suddenly found the meaning of life.
After inquiring, they discovered it was Wayne's handiwork all along, leaving them thoroughly convinced.
They hadn't even figured out how the map worked, and now they had developed a new tool.
Unable to contain themselves, the twins engaged in a night of inner turmoil and ultimately mustered up the courage to approach Wayne.
The academic barriers in the magical community weren't too severe, but when it came to making money, it was treated like state secrets.
If it weren't for their overwhelming curiosity, they wouldn't have acted so recklessly.
Having made up their minds, no matter what conditions Wayne asked for, they were determined to agree if it was something they could manage.
Fred and George's expressions were sincere and serious; Wayne had never seen them like this before.
After a moment of contemplation, he said: "It's not impossible to teach you. I'm currently teaching Cedric how to make maps."
The two looked at Cedric in unison, as if to say, "How come you didn't include us?"
Cedric quickly responded, "What are you looking at me for? I'm just working for Wayne."
"That's right," Wayne nodded. "I'll provide the materials and techniques; he handles the production and sales, but only takes 20%."
"If you can accept that condition, I can teach you."
"Oh, by the way."
Just as the twins were about to agree, Wayne interrupted, "I need one more thing: that map you have."
Fred was astonished, "How do you know?"
That map was the biggest secret they had discovered this term, and they hadn't fully figured it out yet—how did Wayne know?
"Last time in the prize display room, I saw the two of you in action…"
"Too slow." Wayne chuckled, showing a strong interest in the active points map.
In Harry's hands, it was merely a map, useful at most for evading Filch. But in his hands, it was excellent research material, with a value that was uncomparable.
So, just hand it over!
The twins huddled together to whisper for a while and finally said, "We agree, but can you let us keep it a little longer? We haven't fully memorized the secret passages yet."
Wayne readily agreed, "No problem. Just give it back to me after Christmas."
Only Cedric looked completely bewildered, "What are you guys even talking about?"
