When Chris turned and left, only a few people had just gathered in the hallway.
No one paid much attention to the incident that had just occurred, except for the three guys involved, who all felt like spring had come.
Rick: Chris definitely looked at me just now, right? And she didn't mind, she even gave me a shy smile. Could it be that she's interested in me?
Moll: Chris just told me she wants to talk with me, no, she wants to play games with me, no, wait, whatever it is, she's definitely into me!
Zade: That was definitely her throwing me a seductive look just now. She seemed so hungry for it. Has she noticed my charm? She's into me!
These three didn't hold very high status in school, so even if they had girlfriends, they were always pretty ordinary.
A woman like Chris, fiery and famous around the school, was someone they almost never interacted with.
Naturally, they were easily attracted to her.
As they watched her seductive figure walk away, all three fell into a daydream.
But Chris, thinking back to what just happened, felt nothing but disgust.
At least she had completed her first task.
So, she found a corner and, before cleaning herself up, sent a message to Randy, explaining everything that had just happened.
After a long time, Randy finally responded with a short message.
"Are you sure you didn't mix up the names?"
Honestly, when Randy read the message, he was already preparing his lunch.
He hadn't expected Chris to act so quickly. And she was this proactive?
A promising talent.
But a bit ugly. Her moral compass was also quite unappealing. Useful as a tool, sure, but Randy had doubts about recruiting her as a follower. He was worried about her relationship with Carrie. When compared to Carrie, whether in terms of talent or looks, Chris fell far short.
Soon, Chris replied with another message.
"I'm absolutely sure. Should I continue? I can help them out in the bathroom, all three at once if needed."
Randy now understood where the open and wild social customs of South Korea came from.
But there was no need to complicate things at this point. As long as the bait was set, these guys, driven by lust, would definitely fall for it.
"No need, just keep playing coy with them. Make sure they don't always hang out together."
After sending that message, Randy put away his phone, satisfied that they had taken the bait. The rest would go according to the usual plan.
With the weekend approaching, he had to prepare the "fertilizer" in advance.
After lunch, there was a period of calm.
By mid-afternoon, Randy rode his bike back to town to start his plan.
He first headed to the alley behind the school, retrieving the evidence he had hidden there the previous day.
These were a few nude photos he had forced Chris to take, along with some unused envelopes.
Randy thought for a moment, then tore away the key parts of the photos, leaving only the image of Chris lifting her shirt. Below that, nothing was visible, like a censored image. This gave it a more enticing allure.
Randy then wrote three letters, each signed by Chris.
One was for Rick, another for Zade, and the third for Moll.
Tailoring each letter to their specific situations, he described dissatisfaction with her current partner, her loneliness at night, and her interest in them. She hinted at wanting some "excitement" in the woods outside town and asked if they were up for it.
Each letter was accompanied by one of Chris's incomplete photos.
Randy arranged to meet each of them in different spots in the woods, but that location was just a stepping stone. He planned to leave behind only the part of the photo he had torn off.
Then, he would lure them to the final location, the coast.
He didn't set the meeting place at the coast from the start, as it was too far, and he didn't want them to drive straight there and risk being noticed. Plus, it would be difficult to quietly dispose of their cars.
But if they were last seen in the woods, it would be easy to pin the blame on the clown.
As for whether fear might attract the clown? That was unlikely.
Once they found the photos, fear would be the last thing on their minds.
This was a classic "honey trap" scam that worked well in South Korea, and it would only work better on these naive kids in America.
Randy also staggered the timing.
He scheduled Rick for right after the second period, during free time so that Rick would skip class.
Zade was scheduled for after school.
Moll was set for 5 PM, half an hour after school ended.
That way, Randy could handle their bodies one by one.
After finalizing the order, Randy entered the school through the main gate.
The guard didn't stop him, just asked a few questions before letting him in.
After all, they had seen him the day before, so he was a familiar face.
Randy's method remained unchanged. He went into the building and discreetly placed the three letters in each of their lockers.
After making sure no one saw him, he turned and left.
Next, he needed to prepare the second scene.
Randy rode his bike to the woods.
He found the three locations he had planned earlier.
He placed Rick's letter under the red brick in front of the stone bridge, Zade's in the middle of the bridge, and Moll's under a green stone after crossing the bridge.
Randy then looked under the bridge.
There was a shallow stream, littered with some old toys and children's clothes.
Bending down and peering into the tunnel under the bridge, he saw a dark, deep hole.
It connected to the town's sewer system.
Randy knew a creature was hiding in there, but unfortunately, he wasn't feeling any fear at the moment, so he couldn't summon the clown.
Still, he leaned forward and called out.
"Hey."
But there was no response.
The clown Pennywise had a very obvious weakness: when the people it was scaring stopped feeling afraid, the fear would shift to the clown itself, making it the one to feel scared.
So, if someone was brave or just a fool who feared nothing, they could easily deal with the clown.
For now, it was useful to keep Pennywise around. Randy was especially intrigued by its abilities—shapeshifting into whatever its victims feared, and the ability to see into people's weaknesses, which was perfect for breaking down someone's psychological defenses.
Randy figured he'd eventually either subdue it or kill it.
To "subdue" it would mean turning it into a follower. Once it became a follower, Randy could acquire one of its abilities.
Alternatively, if he killed the clown, Randy could use some occult methods to turn it into a protector spirit, which would also allow him to obtain one of its powers.
Randy checked his phone.
It was about time. The second period had just ended.
