Capítulo 132: Chapter 132: Meeting With Itachi Continued, An Unexpected Gain

Itachi didn't respond to Aoba's comment about being late, nor did Aoba pursue the matter. He knew Itachi must have scouted the area to ensure there were no ambushes before arriving.

Aoba's impression of Itachi was straightforward: he was an absolute beast. Yet, Aoba also acknowledged that Itachi still held some value when it came to issues involving Sasuke and the village.

"Aoba Kamikawa, what's your purpose in summoning me?"

Itachi regarded Aoba with great caution not only because of the strength he sensed in their previous encounters but also because Aoba was Sasuke's teacher. That relationship made Itachi deeply uneasy.

"Itachi, I need something from you. Of course, I'll offer an equivalent trade in return."

Itachi frowned slightly. He didn't want to get entangled with someone like Aoba, whom he deemed extremely dangerous in both thought and power. Yet, for some reason, Aoba's demeanor gave the impression that he had Itachi completely cornered.

"Sorry, I'm not interested," Itachi said curtly and prepared to leave. But Aoba spoke again.

"Even if it involves Sasuke, you're not interested? Don't doubt me, Itachi. I was the one who killed Danzo with my own hands and destroyed Root. I know Danzo's secrets. And I know your secrets. So, you can leave now if you want."

Itachi's right hand tightened slightly within the loose sleeve of his Akatsuki cloak. Aoba's words revealed that he had already lost the upper hand completely.

The best option now would be to silently take Aoba down or even kill him. But that wasn't possible. It wasn't just because of Aoba's strength; the bigger issue was that the Aoba standing in front of him was merely a clone.

The real Aoba was undoubtedly nearby, watching the situation unfold. Aoba's knowledge of his deepest weaknesses made it impossible for Itachi to walk away.

If it were Kakashi, Itachi would have turned and left without hesitation, knowing Kakashi would never harm Sasuke. But Aoba? Itachi didn't dare gamble.

"What do you want?"

"Sharingan. I want a Sharingan from you."

Aoba didn't explicitly mention Shisui's eye because he suspected Itachi might have more Sharingan in his possession.

Itachi raised his head sharply, locking his gaze on Aoba.

"You're not a Uchiha. The Sharingan holds no meaning for you."

In the next moment, Aoba removed his forehead protector, revealing the Mangekyō Sharingan in his right eye.

"Itachi Uchiha, your mastery of the Mangekyō is among the best in the Uchiha clan. But I have to say, your understanding of the Sharingan is limited to its use. None of you truly understand its essence."

"So what? The Uchiha clan is already extinct. You should know all the eyes were taken…"

"Itachi, I told you I killed Danzo, destroyed Root, and obtained their information.

I know Root only acquired a small fraction of the Sharingan. Most were taken by your other accomplice.

Even combining the two, it's not all of them. Your father's and mother's Sharingan are not among them. Furthermore, the Sharingan I currently possess came from Danzo's right eye. You should know what that means. I can feel it, the other eye is with you."

Itachi's expression wavered. As a top-tier ninja, he felt a peculiar sense of powerlessness in the face of Aoba. Although Aoba was undoubtedly strong, he wasn't so strong as to make resistance futile. Yet Aoba's understanding of his inner weaknesses created an oppressive weight even greater than the Rinnegan of the Akatsuki leader.

After a long silence, Itachi took out a sealing scroll, undid its seal, and retrieved a Sharingan preserved in a vial.

The moment it was revealed, Aoba felt a special resonance with his right eye. It was Shisui's left eye.

Itachi held the Sharingan in his hand but didn't immediately hand it over to Aoba.

"Shisui's Sharingan, I can give it to you. But I need to know: what are you planning to do with Sasuke?"

As expected, Itachi's greatest concern was still his younger brother. For Sasuke, he could accept giving up one of Shisui's eyes entirely. What he feared was Aoba harming Sasuke.

"Itachi, the blood feud with the Uchiha clan will eventually be settled between you and Sasuke. Until then, I won't interfere. So long as you don't harm Konoha, Sasuke will remain my student. Not only will I not hurt him, but I'll also teach him everything I can.

I'll use the results of my research on the Sharingan to aid him as well. You've been trying to provoke him to awaken the Mangekyō, but you should know that awakening it this way could harm his body. I've already found a safer method, and I'll apply it to Sasuke."

Itachi didn't question the specifics of this method. Upon hearing this, he simply tossed the vial containing Shisui's left eye to Aoba.

"You accepted this faster than I expected."

Aoba hadn't thought Itachi would trust him so easily.

"I've seen what you've done for the village. I believe you genuinely care for Konoha. Aoba Kamikawa, take care of Sasuke.

And for the record, my parents' Sharingan weren't preserved. Before they died, they destroyed their own eyes."

Hearing this, Aoba felt a tinge of regret, though he didn't think Itachi was lying.

Still, obtaining Shisui's left eye was a significant gain. Now, with both of Shisui's Kotoamatsukami eyes in hand, Aoba no longer had to worry about their threatening potential.

Itachi's concern for Sasuke truly surpassed everything else.

Originally, Itachi could have left at this point. But after some thought, he turned back and took out another vial. This time, it contained a pair of Sharingan.

"Here, take these too."

He casually tossed the vial to Aoba.

"What are these?"

"The Uchiha clan has always collected the eyes of clan members who died in battle. These eyes were typically stored in a dedicated warehouse.

The night I wiped out the clan, someone broke into the warehouse and stole all the Sharingan in storage. But this pair is different, they were kept in my father's study.

According to my father, these are Kagami Uchiha's eyes."

A rare flicker of emotion crossed Aoba's face. Kagami's eyes were immensely significant to him. His Sharingan couldn't evolve into the Eternal Mangekyō because he lacked a blood-relative Mangekyō to fuse with.

But Shisui was Kagami's descendant. The value of these eyes to Aoba was immeasurable.
