Valery and Katerin left the classroom and waited at the door for Stelle. They kept a distance between them and the door, to let the students pass and prevent sudden attacks.
Inside the classroom there is no problem because Professor Coin is inside, out of respect none of the students will make a move in her presence. Likewise, the cheerful teacher Coin is no longer as cheerful, she no longer sees them as children.
Now she sees them as the adults they are.
Stelle left the classroom, meeting them both.
"Is something wrong?" she asked as she saw their serious looks.
"Yes, we need to talk," Valery said.
"Okay..." before even offering to lead the way, Valery took the front step and led the way for them.
With Katerin wrapped around her arm, they walked to Valery's room.
Silence and cold.
Stelle felt a bad feeling, but ignored it. She didn't want to fill her head with thoughts she didn't want.
Valery opened the door, but this time she did not do it with complicated movements, she opened it easily since there was no longer any lock on the door. If Stelle had looked at the door frame with a little attention she would have noticed fragments of ice sticking to the wall frame and the door.
Just entering Stelle noticed a strange but familiar feeling, the room was cold, a strange cold.
Not only that, Stelle noticed immediately that Victor, the human, was not in the room either.
"He's already gone..." Stelle heard Valery's whisper.
Valery sat in the chair at the back of the table and Katerin sat on the bed.
"Stelle" Valery didn't offer a seat and didn't give her enough time for Stelle to sit in the chair either.
Stelle looked at Valery again, Valery's serious eyes only made her body shudder with foreboding.
"What's wrong Valery?" with an urgent tone, her nerves increased steadily. She didn't want to admit it, but it was already very obvious to her.
'I'm nervous' Stelle thought.
"I want you to leave the academy."
"Why?"
"Because I appreciate you as my friend, I don't want anything to happen to you."
Stelle, smiled warmly.
"If we are together I don't think anything will happen to me, I can protect you, just trust me".
The silence filled the room, Stelle noticed how Valery's eyes were no longer looking at her, she saw how those eyes were getting darker.
"No," Valery cut off Stelle's train of thought.
"What do you mean?" Stelle's nerves, intensified to the point that it showed in her body, trembling.
"What you heard, I will no longer serve you Stelle. Because serving others is not in my nature."
Stelle's exception turned bitter and annoyance, she clenched her jaw in anger.
"What do you intend to do without a Viscount? you are a Baroness not a Viscountess"
"I don't need you Stelle, not anymore. You on the other hand can serve me" Valery extended her hand to Stelle.
Stelle clenched her fists and slapped Valery's hand.
"What nonsense are you talking!"
Valery frowned, with annoyance Valery looked at her hand before frowning. The room grew colder and colder and more frost was immediately created around the room. Valery took off her shoes and her feet touched the frost on the floor.
"Then you will heed my warning and leave the academy."
Stelle immediately noticed the strangeness of the ice. She felt more alive and that was proof that Valery is a Viscount.
How?' Stelle thought, looking at Valery. 'She is a baroness not a viscount.'
But no matter what she thought the evidence was in front of her, to deny the reality was to lie to herself.
She felt a tightness in her chest, she felt annoyed, she wanted to hit Valery. She had done so much for her, why did she care about her friend, she had done nothing wrong. But they were highly suspicious of her, she had been a good friend, even if they didn't like her inferiors, she treated her friends with kindness.
"Why? What's wrong with being around me?" muttered Stelle.
Valery got up from her chair, approached Stelle, but Stelle did not allow her to approach her.
"Stelle said with her eyes red with anger, turned around and left the room. Following Valery's warning, she headed towards the main door of the academy.
On Stelle's way she couldn't stop her angry eyes from watering, letting soft tears run down her cheeks. She climbed into a carriage that the academy had ready for the students to return to their homes at the time they wanted.
On the way Valery died holding the turns of anger, that more than anger what she really felt was a deep sadness and betrayal of her friends.
x-x-x-x-x
"Are you feeling all right?" asked Katerin.
"Yes" Valery replied with an empty answer, she could sense what Stelle was feeling, she was a little sorry for what she did.
