Wayne hadn't expected Mike to say what he did, which sparked some thoughts in Liu Xiaoli. Wayne was simply thinking that since Liu Tianxian wanted to develop her career in Hollywood and showed promise, if he didn't take the opportunity to invest now and benefit later, it would be a waste of his capitalist status.
As for whether Wayne had personal feelings for Liu Tianxian, honestly, he did, but not much. To him, Liu Tianxian's modern fashion sense was rather average, and her style had issues. She didn't attract him nearly as much as the youthful and vibrant Jessica and Anne.
Compared to Charlize Theron, a mature beauty like a ripe peach, there was really no comparison.
After more than ten hours, the international flight carrying Wayne and his three companions landed at Geneva Airport.
As soon as he turned on his phone after landing, the first text was a thank you message from Liu Tianxian. It was a greeting, and Wayne couldn't help but wonder if Liu Xiaoli had taught her to do this.
Seeing that the message mentioned the audition, Wayne guessed that Liu Xiaoli had at least given her some advice. Otherwise, Liu Tianxian wouldn't have been so calculating yet.
After browsing through his phone and finding no important messages that required a reply, Wayne put his phone back in his pocket. He then turned to Jessica and the others, playfully suggesting, "Our scenes don't start shooting until tomorrow. How about we drop off our luggage and explore the city a bit?"
Without saying a word, the three women rolled their eyes at him in perfect unison and pulled their newly donned coats tighter around themselves.
"Damn! It's only November, how is it this cold here?"
"I just want to find a warm room with a fireplace and sit by the fire."
"Yeah, and a cup of hot chocolate would make it perfect!"
The three of them complained one after the other.
Wayne had reminded them to prepare for the cold before the trip, but they were women, after all. Even though they brought coats, they were the fashionable kind that offered no warmth.
Who knew Switzerland would be this cold? The moment they got off the plane, they instantly regretted their choices.
The travel plans they'd made during the flight seemed doomed to be scrapped.
The thought made the three women even more frustrated.
They couldn't help but wonder why Wayne had been so quiet during the planning phase. Now it was obvious he had foreseen this.
Of course, Wayne wouldn't just sit back and watch his women suffer.
After bidding farewell to the Olsen twins at the airport, where Olsen even hugged Wayne in front of some curious onlookers, Wayne had a van waiting. Once they were settled, he pulled out three thick down coats that wrapped the women up from head to toe.
This thoughtful gesture melted their hearts.
A boyfriend with money, looks, and a great body, who treats them so well—where else could they find a guy like him?
So what if he's a bit of a playboy? In Hollywood, which man isn't?
Besides, dealing with Wayne alone would be too much. Over time, they'd be worn out!
Soon, after bundling up in their new coats, Mia and the others perked up and dragged Wayne along to explore, following the various routes and attractions recommended by the travel guides.
While Geneva wasn't as warm as California's 70°F, it wasn't below freezing either.
The snowy Mont Blanc, ancient stone buildings from the Middle Ages, and the world-renowned Saint Peter's Cathedral were all part of their joyful exploration.
By evening, they checked into a lakeside villa near Lake Geneva. While enjoying a hot, exquisite dinner on the second-floor balcony, they watched the crystal-clear blue waters of the lake take on a rosy hue from the setting sun.
It was the perfect end to a fun-filled day.
The crackling sound of burning pinewood in the fireplace made the moment even cozier as the four of them fully immersed themselves in the experience.
Unfortunately, a full day of relaxation was all they could afford. The entire film crew was waiting for Wayne and Jessica, the lead actors, and even Mia had to return to her producer role. She couldn't just coast on her title; she needed to earn respect and help Wayne's career.
So, the next morning, after a lakeside breakfast, they headed straight for Zurich.
Around 9:30 a.m., they arrived at the set, where the scenery was still being prepared.
That day's scene was Wayne's character, "Bourne," retrieving cash and fake passports from a safety deposit box at a Zurich bank, before being spotted by patrolling police on his way to the train station. Forced to use his fake passport, he takes refuge in the American embassy, where he meets the female lead, Marie, who had just been denied a U.S. student visa.
Yes, the female lead in *The Bourne Identity* is also named Marie. It's such an overused name.
In the end, Wayne kept the name out of respect for the original novel, but he didn't hesitate to change the name of the little girl played by Dakota Fanning in *Gifted*.
"Hey, Wayne! You guys are early! The drive from Geneva is almost 300 kilometers. I thought you wouldn't get here until 11. Did you leave before 7 a.m.?"
Director Doug Liman warmly greeted them as soon as they arrived.
"More or less. This is Jessica's and my first scene here, so we wanted to be early."
Wayne smiled modestly, and Jessica politely greeted Liman as well.
Doug Liman was clearly pleased. In Hollywood, too many people lost themselves after a sudden rise to fame and fortune, especially those actresses who found themselves a sugar daddy.
But clearly, Jessica wasn't that type.
After some brief small talk, Wayne and Jessica headed to the makeup area to get ready.
In the story, both "Bourne" and "Marie" are in a state of confusion and despair—Bourne having lost his memory and not knowing why he's being hunted, and Marie having lost her motivation after being denied a visa.
It's this shared sense of loss that brings them together.
The makeup artists would have to work their magic to transform these two successful stars into characters who looked lost and downtrodden.
