"Of course, immortal cultivators are renowned for their hospitality." Tingyun's tone softened.
"If Miss Yue Shi lacks a guide, I can arrange for the Sky-Faring Commission to assign one free of charge," Phantylia continued with a serene expression, her slender, beautiful eyes fixed on Tingyun. "What do you think, Miss Yue Shi?"
Phantylia's smile faded, her demeanor composed as she stared at Tingyun and replied mildly, "How bothersome. Let me clarify, between you and him, you're merely friends."
"Do you truly believe he holds any place for you in his heart?"
Tingyun looked puzzled.
Phantylia gazed at her scornfully. "Haven't you noticed? If the young master genuinely liked you, when introducing your relationship to me, he wouldn't have needed to add the word 'friend'."
Su Jinyan quietly exhaled, finally suppressing the psychic backlash. As the gentle, pure-white light enveloped his body, the pain he endured significantly diminished.
Thankfully, he possessed the Pain Suppression skill. Upon activation, it not only removed the current negative effects but also drastically reduced all incoming damage for the following minute.
A hint of amusement flickered in Phantylia's lovely eyes. "Young master, why so silent? Could it be that my guess struck too close to home?"
Tingyun lightly bit her lip, her own gaze dimming.
Su Jinyan raised an eyebrow and tightened his embrace around Tingyun. "Is there something wrong with my argument?"
"How so? Are you suggesting that girlfriends don't count as friends according to your understanding, Miss Yue Shi?"
"Miss Yue Shi, judging by your reaction, have you never been in love before?" Phantylia asked with a slight smile.
Su Jinyan's expression shifted, realizing something. "Oh, it seems I've hit the mark."
"It makes sense, really. Typically, those who delight in sowing discord between passionately in-love couples..."
"...are driven by jealousy at others' happiness, unable to resist the urge to sabotage them."
"...and often feel compelled to censor even normal content."
"...tend to be orphans, devoid of both parental affection and romantic experience."
"Do you think this applies to you?"
Tingyun covered her lips, unable to suppress a burst of laughter.
Phantylia looked puzzled.
Who was Phantylia?
She was the Emanator chosen by the Aeon of Destruction, Nanook.
The leader of numerous forces within the Antimatter Legion.
A being with myriad forms, manipulating countless lives at her whim.
Despite being a Heliobus without a physical body, Phantylia could possess other vessels and assume countless appearances. Even among the Heliobus race, she was exceptionally powerful.
She had annihilated countless worlds, luring numerous beings into an abyss from which there was no return.
Under her manipulation, many worlds plunged into chaos and self-destruction without ever fully comprehending the true nature of their enemy.
Until now, no one had dared to speak so defiantly to Phantylia.
Traditionally, she disdained direct involvement in destruction, finding it too crude and contrary to her "aesthetics of annihilation."
However, faced with such pointed scorn, those "aesthetics" suddenly seemed dispensable.
Was aesthetics more important or dignity?
Neither mattered; what truly held precedence was her meticulously planned demise of Luofu.
Moreover, within Phantylia's schemes, there existed another objective far higher in priority than destroying the Rising Immortal Ferry.
If forced to choose between the two, Phantylia would opt for the latter.
Indeed, humans could be eliminated at any time.
To let a long-planned strategy fail would be far worse.
Very well, I'll swallow this insult for now.
Phantylia strove to compose herself, managing a stiff smile.
"You certainly have remarkable restraint."
Su Jinyan raised an eyebrow, shifting tactics as he whispered softly, "Miss Yue Shi, didn't see that coming, did you? Actually, I've already discovered your true identity."
"What?!" Surprise flickered across Phantylia's eyes.
A flicker of surprise crossed Phantylia's eyes—my true identity? Had he really uncovered it?
Su Jinyan snapped his fingers, and suddenly, a small red clown mask appeared on the tea table.
Phantylia's gaze sharpened. Despite her keen vision, she couldn't discern where this mask had materialized from.
Could this be the Masked Fool's mask? Is he the Masked Fool himself? No wonder my illusions were so easily seen through.
It seems he deliberately suppressed his aura, concealing his true strength to appear weaker than he is, thus evading my perception.
Phantylia maintained her composed expression; however, this revelation wasn't significant. Even if you are the Masked Fool, you should know the consequences of recklessly crossing me.
Su Jinyan picked up the clown mask from the tea table and spoke leisurely, "Some consider Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker as the most iconic."
"Others find Arthur's depiction of the Joker the most impactful."
"They're both wrong..."
Phantylia frowned deeply. Are these two clowns also associated with the Masked Fool? What is he implying?
With a teasing smile, Su Jinyan gently pushed forward the Fool's Mask.
In one precise motion, it snapped onto Phantylia's face, fitting perfectly without any gap.
"And you, my friend, are truly the clown."
[So close, I'd call you a "hero".]
[Why not make a run for it before she completely loses her composure?]
[It'll be too late if we wait much longer, seriously.]
Phantylia stared, bewildered.
Bang!
Without warning, the tea table before them shattered into fine dust.
Feigning surprise, Su Jinyan asked, "Oh dear, how did the tea table suddenly break?"
"Tingyun, do you have any idea what happened?"
Tingyun softly shook her head. "Benefactor, this humble maiden is equally puzzled."
Su Jinyan promptly removed the Fool's Mask from Phantylia's face, tilting her snow-white chin gently and caressing it lightly.
"Alright, alright, Miss Yue Shi, why so serious?"
"Oh come on, cheer up! You're mirroring Si Luoma's gloominess, which isn't good at all."
"Now, give me a smile?"
Phantylia looked perplexed.
Before her eyes, Su Jinyan's rough fingers brutally forced their way between her lips. They then seized her tender tongue and played with it deliberately for a moment. Finally, they tugged at the corners of her mouth, pulling them upward into a smile.
Unfazed, Phantylia maintained her grin, intentionally displaying a hint of bashfulness on her snow-white cheeks.
Endure.
I mustn't get angry.
I'll endure—
Su Jinyan gently patted Phantylia's cheek. "Oh right, Miss Yue Shi."
I'll endure—
"Can you explain why this perfectly fine tea table suddenly shattered?"
"Do you have any leads?"
I f*cking can't take this anymore!
Phantylia could bear it no longer. No matter what, Su Jinyan had to die today. And that seductive fox in his arms—their fate was sealed as well. She intended for Su Jinyan to witness firsthand the slow transformation of his beloved into a Voidranger.
Just as Phantylia prepared to unleash her fury, a young figure appeared nearby.
"Why hello there, Teacher. What seems to be going on?" Yanqing approached with light steps and sharp eyes, completely oblivious to Phantylia's menacing aura.
Hm? Even more unsuspecting pawns daring to approach? No matter; one more or less won't change anything.
A contemptuous smile curled Phantylia's lips.
Just as she was about to strike, a familiar pink silhouette slowly emerged, heading their way.
It was Fu Xuan, the Grand Diviner of the Divination Commission.
Phantylia's heart sank momentarily before her expression relaxed again. So what if Fu Xuan arrived? Not even he could save Su Jinyan today. At worst, I'll convert him into a Voidranger too.
Su Jinyan must die, just you watch!
