"Ma'am, where are you?"
A clear voice accompanied by the sound of footsteps echoed from outside.
Zhou Simin, who was in a state of arousal, froze upon hearing the voice. Her naked body stiffened, and she looked at Li Yifei in panic, seeking his help.
If her maid discovered her affair with Li Yifei, the consequences would be disastrous.
Li Yifei couldn't help but laugh inwardly, thinking how the once-bold and flirtatious woman was now gripped by fear. Despite his amusement, he gently reassured her, "Sister Simin, there's no need to be afraid. This place is well hidden. It's unlikely your maid will find it anytime soon."
Zhou Simin finally felt a wave of relief wash over her after hearing Li Yifei's comforting words. Her expression relaxed, and she quickly dressed herself. Once fully clothed, she returned to her usual elegant and dignified demeanor, embodying the untouchable grace of a noblewoman.
"Brother, I'll come see you when I have the chance. But you mustn't forget about me, alright?"
The beautiful woman cast a seductive glance at Li Yifei, then slowly walked out of the garden, her full hips swaying suggestively as she left.
"Don't worry, I promise to send you soul soaring to the heavens next time!"
Li Yifei smirked wickedly as he watched the graceful, voluptuous woman leave. He couldn't help but regret that he had almost succeeded in seducing Zhou Simin.
Since their last encounter in the garden, Li Yifei had been eager to take their relationship to the next level. However, days passed, and Zhou Simin hadn't shown herself.
He wondered whether she was deliberately avoiding him or if she feared that their last encounter might be discovered. Either way, the beautiful woman hadn't visited him in days.
Although Li Yifei was slightly disappointed, he knew deep down that as long as he remained in the Wu Mansion, the enchanting Zhou Simin wouldn't be able to resist him forever.
Three days later, Li Yifei finally received news about something that had been worrying him. Wu Sansi summoned him and informed him that arrangements had been made for him to participate in the military examination.
With Wu Sansi's recommendation, Li Yifei felt a sense of relief. Now, all he had to do was wait for the examination to begin.
The wait wasn't long. Just two days after Wu Sansi had informed him, the highly anticipated martial arts examination was held.
The vast Tianxuanmen Square was packed with enthusiastic spectators. When Li Yifei arrived alone, the entire arena was already surrounded by a dense crowd, making it nearly impossible to see the end of the throng.
Li Yifei pushed through the crowd and made his way to the reception desk of the imperial court. After reporting his name, the guard in charge of maintaining order quickly allowed him to enter the examination area.
Once inside, Li Yifei noticed a group of warriors gathered in the square, many holding swords and knives. Most of them were ordinary fighters, with a few who possessed the strength of third-rate masters. Warriors of second-rate master caliber were even scarcer.
After a brief survey of the crowd, Li Yifei turned his attention to the high platform in the center of the square. Three judges were seated there, one of whom was General Lu, whom he had met before. The other two were unfamiliar to him.
At that moment, the three judges were glancing up at the sky and occasionally looking behind them, as if they were awaiting the arrival of someone important.
"The princess has arrived! Everyone, step back!"
A sharp, commanding voice rang out, causing the three anxious judges on the platform to break into smiles of joy. They quickly rose from their seats and bowed in the direction of the voice.
"Welcome, Your Highness!"
"We pay our respects to Her Royal Highness, the Princess!"
As the three judges bowed in reverence, all the warriors and commoners in the square knelt and kowtowed.
Li Yifei frowned. He was reluctant to kneel before this princess, but not wanting to draw attention to himself, he pretended to kneel. Meanwhile, his sharp eyes were fixed on the ornate carriage slowly approaching in the distance.
The approaching carriage was lavishly adorned with gold and jade, and bore the emblem of a five-clawed golden dragon, a symbol reserved for the royal family. The front of the carriage was obscured by a thick red screen, concealing the occupants from view.
"My dear subjects, please rise!"
As Li Yifei secretly observed the carriage, a melodious and captivating female voice rang out from within.
At her command, the three judges expressed their gratitude and slowly straightened up.
"Even Princess Taiping is here to witness this martial arts examination!"
"Indeed! You may not know this, but the emperor places great importance on this exam. I heard that the champion will be highly esteemed by the emperor."
"Oh, this exam is truly significant. I wonder who will claim the final honor."
"Hehe, I bet the champion will be General Pang Tong. I've heard he's put in a lot of effort for this exam."

"It seems my aunt is highly regarded by the Demon Queen!"
Li Yifei touched his nose and smiled playfully, his starry eyes cutting through the crowd to focus on the ornate carriage.
The carriage slowly rolled into the square and came to a stop in front of the platform. Then, a woman in a purple dress stepped out.
Her black hair was styled in an elegant updo, indicating her status as a married woman. Her graceful figure was alluring, with a pair of breasts that seemed ready to burst through her clothes. Based on her figure alone, Princess Taiping was undoubtedly a rare beauty. However, her face was hidden behind a thin layer of black gauze, obscuring her features from view.
Despite the veil, Li Yifei could still make out the delicate contours of her face beneath it. The black gauze added an air of mystery, making people long to lift it and reveal the beauty hidden beneath.
