Capítulo 48: Lines in the Sand

Kaleb barely has time to respond to Cassie before she pulls back, her eyes locking onto his face. For a split second his expression changes, contorted in pain, wild and terrifying. Her instincts kick in, and before she realizes it, she grabs him and drags him down to the floor.

Kaleb hits the dirt hard, gasping as the impact knocks the wind out of him and he looks up, dazed.

"Cassie…?" he called out, breathless and confused.

Just then Rayna bursts into the tent, her face flush with anger as she sights Kaleb on the ground with Cassie on top of him.

"What the hell are you doing?" she asked furiously, as she pointed at Cassie.

"I… I'm sorry!" she responded, her voice panicked and her hands shaky. "I didn't mean to! It was his face…. It was… well anyone would have reacted that way!"

"Really? That's your excuse for sending a patient crashing to the ground?" she said, glaring at Cassie with her arms crossed.
