**Capiter 10: And the Shit Hit the Fan maybe **
**Bryan's pov**
I was siting in the FBI offise, in front of my boss, giving him my report about the undercover operashun. The room was cold and empty, with tention in the air while I tried to focus on the detals.
"Sir, everythin was going acording to plan," I started, keepin my voice profesinal, "but there was one mistake, sir." I pushed a foto across the table, Marco's face staring up from the white background. "This guy... he wasn't in the original reports. Looks like he just joined the group recently."
Agent Bilkins, my boss, leaned back in his chair, squinting as he looked at the photo. He took a deep breath before speeking, his voice slow and suspicious.
"This guy," Bilkins said, tapping Marco's foto with his finger, "he's too clean. Too clean to be real. Not even a speeding ticket, no criminal record, nuthin. It's like his past has been wiped or somethin." He paused, frowning. "He graduated from a good high school, decent grades, worked as a janitor in New York till a few months ago when he moved here."
Bilkins hated loose ends. And Marco, with his spotless background, was a loose end.
"Have you looked into him more?" Bilkins asked, his voice pushy.
I nodded.
"I've been keepin an eye on him, sir. He doesn't fit the usual profile of a street racer. He's quiet, but he doesn't get too involved in the dirty stuff. He's close to Dom and the crew, but he stays outta the illegal jobs or the races. Just watches, like he's waiting for something."
Bilkins tapped his fingers on the desk, thinkin.
"That's not good enough. We need something solid. If this guy's a threat to the operation, we gotta find out. We can't let someone new slip into a group we've been watching for months." His eyes locked onto mine, demanding answers. "Bryan, you need to get closer to him. Earn his trust. If he's playin a double game, I want to know. And fast."
I felt a knot in my stomach. Getting closer to Marco was gonna complicate things. I already had Dom's trust, and the crew's, but Marco was different. He was a wild card.
"I'll do it, sir," I said, trying to sound confident. "I'll get close to him and find out what he's up to."
Bilkins nodded, pleased, before standing up from his chair.
"Good. Keep me updated, and be careful. I don't want any mistakes."
I left Bilkins' office with a uneasy feelin I couldn't shake. There was somethin off about Marco, but I couldn't put my finger on it. He seemed too perfect, always one step ahead, always watchin. And now, I had to figure out if he was a friend or a threat.

Back on the streets of Los Angeles, the heat of the city was suffocating, a stark contrast to the cold FBI office. I headed to Dom's garage, where the crew usually hung out. When I got there, I found Marco workin on a car, his hands moving skillfully as he checked the engine.
"Everything good here?" I asked, walking up to him.
Marco looked up, his dark eyes studying mine for a second before he gave a brief smile.
"Under control," he said, in his usual quiet tone.
We stayed silent for a moment, the sound of tools and engines filling the space. I knew if I wanted to get his trust, I had to play my cards right.
"You know," I said finally, breakin the silence, "you haven't talked much about yourself since you joined. Dom trusts you, and that's enough for me, but… sometimes I wonder how you ended up here."
Marco stopped workin for a second, his gaze fixed on the engine. It looked like he was deciding whether to answer or not.
"Life brought me here," he said after a while, his voice low. "Sometimes it's not about how you get to a place, but what you do when you're there."
His answer, though vague, left me thinking. Marco was a closed book, but I knew I'd have to find a way to open it.
