Five days had passed since I returned from the Balthazar Dungeon. I was clearing minor quests and finding hidden rewards during those five days and didn't hunt at all. I was keeping myself busy because I was waiting for something to happen.
"Here is your drink," said the waiter.
"Thank you."
I was at the adventurer guild, eating something out of boredom. Everything was too calm, and I wasn't okay with it since I could have done a lot in those five days, but I knew it was going to be worth it.
Thud! A man with bloody hands and a bleeding head entered the guild building. The once loud room turned quiet due to his appearance. He then fell and became unconscious.
One of the worried adventurers carried him to the infirmary. The quiet cracked as they left. Many were gossiping about the cause and worried if something bad had happened.
"Finally, took it long enough," I mumbled. I stood up and waited beside the infirmary, patiently.
The infirmary's door opened, and a person came out. The man had brown hair and red eyes, and he didn't seem any older than 30. He was wearing a white shirt and a pair of glasses. His hands were covered with bloody gloves, and his overall look wasn't pretty okay.
He moved quickly towards the guild's main room without noticing me, and I followed him right after.
The man stood on the counter's table and took a deep breath. I was watching him from the back.
"Everyone, listen. There is an emergency issue. We need to be ready for a monsters' rampage as soon as possible. I repeat, there is an emergency… Aloraz is under attack," said the man with glasses.
"W-wait a minute. How is that possible?! It's not even winter. Why are monsters attacking us?"
The man came down off the table and said, "I know. That wounded adventurer reported to me, and I don't think he is lying. Someone go and tell the knight order about the situation. Two of the high rankers go and check the south and report back to me."
Many nodded in agreement and dispersed to do their duties. Soon after, the city began to strengthen its defenses, and citizens hid in their houses for the time being.
The Adventurer Guild appointed an emergency quest with a good reward. Low-level adventurers left the city via a safe route since they didn't have any obligation to stay, and higher-ranked ones stayed to earn some money.
"I want to join the subjugation raid if possible," I said.
The receptionist looked puzzled by my words and replied, "Um, okay. Give me your card."
I gave her my adventurer card to add me to the raid, but she stopped after she noticed something important.
"Sorry kid, but you can't join the raid since your grade isn't high-"
"But they said anyone is welcome to join, didn't they?"
"I-I know, but you're an E-grade adventurer, and you will die if you join the raid."
"What's wrong?" said the brown-haired guy.
"...Nothing serious. I just wanted to join the raid," I said.
"Sadly, I won't allow you to. After all, i don't need any unnecessary problems."
Dalv von Aloraz, the youngest son of the Aloraz family, and the youngest Guild Master on the continent. Thanks to the "147 Novel Series," I knew who he was closely. An ambitious man with a brilliant mind, a rare class, and a special skill that even I wanted.
"Sorry if I acted unnicely, but I'm sure you would regret not accepting me into the mission."
"We don't need any newbie to hinder us in the upcoming mission."
"You might not know, but I'm quite capab-" Dalv put his hand in front of my face as a sign to stop.
He then took my card from the receptionist and began to tap it in his hand as he thought about what to say.
"I know you, Mr. Action. Actually, I know every adventurer in this city, but I know you better because I looked into your information. At first, I thought you might be a veteran fighter trying to rank up as fast as possible. But after I saw you, I realized I was wrong."
"… you know nothing about my abilities."
"What can a barely D-grade adventurer do?"
"The reason for the monster rampage isn't a simple food shortage. Someone is controlling them."
"What makes your information trustworthy?"
"I think you know how to make it trustworthy."
Dalv wasn't just a normal office worker who managed the documents. Among the stories I read, his stories were quite to my liking because I loved the mystery genre the most.
[ Dav von Aloraz Used "Eye of Truth" Skill ]
Dalv's eyes began to glow in golden light. With his special skill, he could find the truth no matter who he talked to.
"… uh, fine. You will come with me. And don't forget, I won't let you fight a single monster. Is that okay?"
"Absolutely. All i want is to [Save] this city."
Of course, that was a lie. The reason I joined the raid was to hunt monsters.

Level wasn't everything in this world. A Lv 100 with a bad skill could be beaten by a Lv 20 with an OP skill, and I knew that pretty well. But I didn't want to slack off just because of that. I was going to meet many who couldn't be beaten with just skills and knowledge. Also, I needed a lot of mana for the upcoming two dungeons that I was going to clear.
Hours passed, and before I knew it, adventurers gathered in front of the south gate. I could see the Aloraz Knights, but Gabriel was nowhere to be seen… just as I thought he would act. The raid team consists of two A-grade, six B-grade, some C-grade, and many D-grade adventurers.
Dalv stood in front of the crowd. He was assigning every team captain and telling them about the plan.
I was sitting in a corner and thinking about what I should do in the upcoming battle when Dalv came towards me and said, "What are you doing?"
"I'm waiting for the teams to get assigned."
"Then why are you here?"
"I'm waiting to get assigned?"
"Nope, you're coming with me. After all, you're my adviser."
"What do you mean?"
"Didn't you tell me that you knew about something interesting? You are coming with me to tell me about that." The wicked smile on Dalv's face made me uncomfortable.
I was a bit lost since something like this never happened to me in the game. I opened my mouth to say something, but I quickly changed my mind to not make my situation worse.
