Capítulo 63: The Hunting Camp

Donncahd sat up late into the night. He was focused on his maps, on his plans, on his writing. Whatever he was working on. Rache didn't know. He didn't bother telling her.

But that was fine. It didn't really matter to her what he was planning or how he'd hunt, and he obviously knew that perfectly well.

And besides that, she preferred when his attention was not on her. His presence was intense, and his attention even moreso.

And so, she slept.

There was nothing else she could do but that, after all.

Sleep. Rest. Wait. Make certain she stayed healthy.

She could perhaps sneak glimpses of the map if he left it behind while hunting. She'd have to wait and see about that, too.

And...

Before even Rache was awake, he was gone.

Off in the cold, dark morning, hunting.

It was peaceful in the tent without him. It felt bigger than it had the night before. More spacious, more comfortable.

And that made it feel safer.
