That morning, after leaving the baron, Zanuba and Piere continued their journey to seek allies. The bustling royal city hid the underlying tension behind its grand walls, and Zanuba knew time was running out. They had to move quickly. "We're going to see Lord Veldor," Zanuba indicated toward the south. "He was a close friend of my father. If there's anyone we can trust, it's him."

Piere nodded but remained silently vigilant. "We have to be careful, Zanuba. Not everyone who seems loyal is truly reliable."

During the journey to Lord Veldor's residence, Piere assessed everyone they encountered sharply. Some servants and townsfolk who had once known Zanuba looked shocked to see her alive.
