"I'm a doctor...I have the antidote. I...am healing you..." The white-beaked masked man stared at Brit, and there was a hint of madness in his voice.
At that moment, Brit only felt a chill rushing up from his spine and the fear in his mind was uncontrollable.
[ ===== ]
And countless viewers in the stream were also shocked by the atmosphere of the white-beaked masked man, and frantically flooded the chat:
"F*CK-! I almost piss myself."
"Why do I feel that this doctor seems to have a lot of history? Is he human?"
"He is SCP-049, I want to know his file now."
"My god, does anyone think he's both scary and handsome at the same time!"
"Has anyone noticed? He just killed Vale with a single touch, and then Vale just died, no process at all."
[ ===== ]
The chat in the stream room was endless, but Brit in the game had no time to watch it because he was already panicking.
"I am dead." Brit sighed softly in his heart.
He still didn't know what is the nature of SCP-049, but he saw with his own eyes that SCP-049 just lightly touched Vale, and then he died. Regardless of those zombies, it was this strange ability to kill people that people simply couldn't resist.
If he touches you, you die. How do you fight against this? Of course, players could choose not to be touched, but Brit had no choice now.
"I will show you my results, but before that, I need you to stay here...Of course, you can't leave because you are also infected with the Pestilence." While Brit was burning with anxiety, the white-beaked masked man spoke again.
He forcibly suppressed the irritability in his heart. Then he turned his head, squatted next to Vale, and took out all kinds of strange tools from the medical box he carried with him.
"He's going to operate on Vale..." Brit's heart skipped a beat, and he remembered the weird wounds on the zombie's body when he first saw it.
At that time, Brit had felt that the corpse seemed to have undergone rough surgery. Now it seems that these zombies are created by this mysterious creature.
"Oh sh*t, he won't turn Vale into a zombie, will he?" Brit swallowed unconsciously and nervousness gripped his heart.
He looked at the passage on the other side since the white-beaked masked man had already gone to Vale's side, leaving the other side empty.
"Let's run." Brit suppressed his nervousness and quietly moved to the other side of the passage.
But after moving just two steps, the white-beaked masked man, who was about to dissect Vale, immediately turned his head, his eyes a bit red: "I said I'm healing him and I will heal you-! You are terminally ill and you don't know it-! You are hopelessly stupid-!"
After saying this, the white-beaked masked man paused, then he said in a low voice: "Try to escape again, and I will be forced to treat you first, but then you won't be able to see my results."
Brit didn't dare move immediately; the speed at which the man with the SCP had passed him and reached Vale was unmatched. So, if he ran again, he might turn into a zombie even sooner than Vale.
"I can only rely on Kiwo..." Brit sighed deeply in his heart, then, after thinking about it, he walked cautiously into the next SCP room.
During this time, the white-beaked masked man turned his head to look at Brit but didn't say anything.
Brit breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed that as long as he didn't try to escape, this SCP wouldn't attack him immediately. That being the case, he took the opportunity to search for useful information to prepare for the next time he restarted the game.
After entering the SCP room, Brit found that it was divided into two layers: inner and outer. The inner layer was the actual containment room, with only simple beds and tables inside, while the outer layer was an observation room. There were various equipment and instruments, like computers.
A wall separated the inner layer from the outer layer, with a door in between that was currently open. Brit looked around and came to a table in the outer observation room. On the table was a computer, but the screen was black.
But that wasn't the focus, the focus was a Keycard on the table, along with a dossier filled with text.
"Huh? It's a Level 4 Keycard?!" Brit was surprised; he understood the significance of the SCP-049 room now.
This SCP-049 containment area was likely where the game provided Level 4 Keycard for players. Since players could take the Level 4 Keycard, it was likely because many doors in this area required Level 4 or higher Keycards to pass.
Brit thought for a while, then whispered: "Everyone, I think this place already belongs to the Heavy Containment Area. After all, the Light Containment Area usually only requires a Level 3 Keycard."
[ ===== ]
The viewers in the stream suddenly realized, and many viewers said as much in chat:
"That's right, no wonder the passageways feel more airless and more vicious, after all, it's a Heavy Containment Area."
"I think so too. It's amazing though, that getting caught by "The Old Man" brings you into the Heavy Containment Area. Isn't that a shortcut?"
"Don't think about it, though. Since there's a Light Containment Area, it has its purpose, after all. Players need to collect items in the Light Containment Area."
"That's right. I think that "The Old Man" also belongs to the storage area of the Heavy Containment Area, but he's a bit special since he can go directly to the Light Containment Area."
"Without good items, it's hard to survive in the Heavy Containment Area. The SCP in front of you is a living example."
[ ===== ]
After looking at the chat, Brit nodded: "Some of your analyses are very reasonable. The Heavy Containment Area must be full of dangers. If only "The Old Man" could help pass levels quickly, then the game would be too simple."
After speaking, Brit sighed, then he turned his attention to the file in his hand. It did not exceed Brit's expectations. The information in the file was exactly about the beaked man outside:
[ SCP-049, Plague Doctor ]
"His name is Plague Doctor...He is a doctor?" Brit was surprised.
However, though he was called the "Plague Doctor", Brit felt this doctor was very different from the real thing, It is not even the same concept at all.
Shaking his head, Brit continued to read. But before he had taken in more than a few sentences, he heard movement at the door of the Containment Chamber. He looked up and found Vale at the door, staring at him with blank eyes, expressionless.
There were horrible marks on his chest and abdomen from the rough surgery just performed, anyone who saw it would feel their spine crawl.
"The Plague Doctor" also came out from the side, a hint of excitement in his deep voice: "See? I healed him. He is healthy now, unspeakable horrors torment him no more. Well...I have to admit, this cure is not perfect."

Vale had horrific surgical wounds on his body, his face was pale, and his eyes were dull, staring straight at Brit.
At the moment when he saw Vale, Brit even had a sensation of cardiac arrest. After all, he was his teammates and friends he met in the real world. When he suddenly appeared in front of him in the form of a corpse, one can imagine the impact.
[ ===== ]
Not only Brit but also the viewers in the stream were taken aback because of this dreadful image:
"Damn, damn-! I'm scared."
"Vale turned into a zombie."
"Is this the ability of SCP-049? It can turn people into zombies?!"
"This game is too exhilarating, I can't play it if I have a bad heart."
"Dang, if I didn't know this was a game, I would have thought Vale had died."
[ ===== ]
In-game, Brit in the Containment Chamber unknowingly broke out in a cold sweat. He frantically hinted in his mind that this was just a game, Vale was fine, and after a few seconds, the shock was a little better.
And the Masked Doctor also walked into the Containment Chamber. He waved his hand, and Vale, who had turned into a zombie, stiffly took a few steps forward.
"Look, what an amazing result. I admit, this is not perfect, but please believe me, I am very close to the perfect procedure, and the terrible Pestilence is about to be ended by me."
Brit wiped off his cold sweat. He thought about it, and suddenly became curious, so he asked: "Are you sure... my friend has been cured? This cure? I think he's dead, he's just a... living corpse."
The Masked Doctor froze for a moment, then he got expressive: "Of course he was cured. This is my mercy to him, to you, and to all human beings. Your shallow knowledge prevents you from seeing through such extreme results. You can laugh at my efforts, but you cannot tarnish the name of such a great and benevolent science that has developed."
Brit was taken aback for a moment, he didn't expect this Masked Doctor to be so expressive with just one word, but he was pretty sure it was him next. But before he died, Brit still had a question in his heart that he wanted to ask.
He took a deep breath and asked softly: "I want to ask... What is this so-called Pestilence? My friend and I are both healthy humans, how could we get the Pestilence?"
When Brit asked this question, firstly because of curiosity, and secondly because he wanted to confirm whether the so-called Pestilence from the mouth of the Masked Doctor might be some kind of clue. After all, this is like a horror game, maybe the clues are hidden in various details.
Moreover, so far, the Masked Doctor in front of him is the first intelligent SCP he has seen so far. He can talk, he can think, and he has some kind of persistence of his own, so the level of wisdom is not low. Brit secretly admires the development team for writing such an excellent program.
After Brit finished asking, the Masked Doctor's eyes suddenly changed.
Brit looked carefully. I think that must be some kind of fear, the SCP in front of him is a little afraid of the so-called Pestilence he mentioned.
However, what surprised Brit was that the Masked Doctor was only silent for a few seconds before shaking his head.
"You can't see it, you can't feel it, this is the tragedy of human beings or most human beings. They don't know they've been seized by that great terror, they're stupid, but pathetic at the same time. It's useless to talk too much, let me heal you, sir. Trust me, I'm a doctor, I won't hurt you."
The Masked Doctor looked at Brit and there was some sympathy in his eyes.
I don't know why, but after hearing the Masked Doctor say so much, and being stared at by him like this, Brit suddenly had an illusion. Does he have a disease and don't know yet?
"Damn, I was almost brainwashed." After thinking in his mind for a while, Brit suddenly gasped and the eyes of the Masked Doctor also changed.
He admires it because he was almost brainwashed by the other party's rhetoric.
"I will not surrender, Doctor." Brit exhaled, arranged his clothes again, and looked at the Masked Doctor with his head held high.
Anyway, the ending is condemned, so it would be better to die bravely.
And the Masked Doctor stopped talking, shook his head slightly, and walked up gently. Brit knew the opponent's strength well, so he was not going to face it head-on, nor was he going to run away. Because it is impossible to escape.
The only thing that made Brit feel a little uneasy, it's just that he didn't know if the process of being touched to death was painless. He is considering whether to quit the game early.
However, this problem soon disappeared, because after the Masked Doctor walked up to Brit, he lightly touched Brit's neck with his bloody palm. Although he was very scared in his mind, Brit just gritted his teeth and remained still, acting tough.
And at the moment of being touched, Brit did not feel any pain. He just saw that the surrounding environment quickly blurred, and then darkness enveloped him. This is the end of his game, as he is back in the area where he started again.
And here, Vale, RT, and Plumbella are already waiting for him.
The moment he saw him, Vale yelled loudly: "F*ck you Brit, I was turned into a zombie, did you scare you?"
RT also came over, his face full of shock: "Hot damn, that Doctor was awesome. Just touch and you die. Tsk~tsk~, unfortunately, I didn't see it."
Plumbella next to him was also shocked. She was the first to die, so she can see the rest of the game, but she can't participate in it.
"Yes, I was horrified when I saw you turned into a zombie. That kind of effect is very impactful, after all, the game is too real."
"Haaa... I think SCP-049 should be a SCP in the Heavy Containment Area. Vale and I fell into the Heavy Containment Area." Brit shook his head, full of emotion: "Even without the Masked Docter, I'm afraid the two of us wouldn't be able to live long. After all, the Heavy Containment Area is dangerous from what we know."
The others also nodded in agreement.
Brit showed a regretful expression again: "It's just that I didn't have time to read his files. I knew his name seemed to be "The Plague Doctor", but I don't know any more about it."
"B*sterd-! Other doctors treat the sick and make them healthy, but this doctor puts the living to death and the dead to life." Vale shook his head angrily.
Several people froze for a moment and laughed at the same time.
"Makes sense-!"
"The living shall die, and the dead shall live."
