••• Arabella’s POV •••
Hearing Iris’ words and feeling her strength, Shawn seemed to be on the verge of a breakdown, with tears filling his eyes as he clenched his jaw in pain.
Iris and I could feel his wolf had retreated to the back of his mind, blocking himself and not wanting to share his human suffering.
Even his wolf abandoned him.
His wolf must have hated him for betraying Iris and me, the fated mate the Moon Goddess had given them.
“Pathetic,” Iris snarled again before giving me back the control over my body.
I stepped back, releasing Shawn, and he slid down the wall slowly.
Pathetic was the right word to describe him right now.
He looked poor, but I didn't feel any pity for him.
He deserved it!
Suddenly, my phone rang, and lo and behold, who else was calling me besides his Omega?
Looking at the pathetic Alpha, still slumping on the ground, I decided to take the call.
“Hello, Bella?” Abigail asked cautiously, but I kept silent.
