Capítulo 23: Harvesting Sharingan.
While Shitsuya was playing school girl the second great ninja war had progressed.
The most important event of the war was the final showdown between the second Mizukage Gengetsu Hozuki and the second Tsuchikage Mu.
The result of their earth shaking battle result in both of their deaths and the complete annihilation of the forest they fought in within the land of snow.
Due to their deaths both the hidden in mist and the hidden in stone significantly reduced their involvement in the war and chose to fortify their forces after coronating their next Kage.
The other villages, warry of the two villages building up their forces also reduced their encounters and the war seemed to slow down.
Although it had slowed down, the war still wasn't over just yet, Shitsuya after becoming a ninja of Kirigakure joined under a one of Kirigakure's many ten man ambush squads.
These squads targeted smaller teams of enemy teams along with the occasional war crime or two against civilians.
As these squads engaged in frequent encounters and were mostly made up of new soldiers they had to replenish their members quite often.
After 6 months in one of those squads, Shitsuya went from being considered a green horn in the squad forces to do all sorts of unpleasant tasks by his seniors he became the second in command.
It wasn't because of any foul play on Shitsuya's part he simply didn't die and found himself as the second in command.
The first in command was a Chunin from the hidden mist who graduated a year before Shitsuya.
After graduation most genin died within their first year on the battlefield.
Those who can survive for more than a year are usually promoted to chunin and granted the role of commander over their own 10 man squad.
If they survive an additional year, depending on their achievements they would be promoted to Jonin or join the Anbu or an equivalent position.
This time his squad was assigned to ambush a team from Konoha and eliminate the person they were escorting.
The person escorted wasn't of any actual importance, he'd be eliminated in an effort to damage Konoha's reputation.
If a village failed their mission they would lose their prestige and would be less likely to be hired by future clients.
Shitsuya had relayed the information about his mission to Konoha and he got the usual response to let things proceed as normal.
Shitsuya recognised a few faces on the team but he didn't care as he cut them down mercilessly.
Luckily the Uchiha clan Shinobi acting as team leader of the opposing side although a bit strong was too focused on trying to protect his team and was killed by the combined efforts of multiple Kiri ninjas who swarmed him like a pack of hungry sharks who smelled blood.
"Look at what I got!" A Kiri ninja who dealt the killing blow to Uchiha ninja shouted as he raised a pair of Two tomoe Sharingan in the air like a trophy.
"Those are mine! I injured him the most!" One Kiri ninja shouted.
"That's only cuz I kept him distracted!" Another shouted.
Shitsuya only watched the small skirmish silently from the side.

Another six months passed and Shitsuya was called back to Kirigakure where he was personally promoted to the chunin rank by the Third Mizukage.
The next year went on without many incidents, although he had to sabotage some of the missions he led on orders from Konoha nobody seemed to suspect him.
Overall Shitsuya gained a lot of fighting experience in these last two years as he fought against all sorts of opponents.
After two years of service to Kirigakure Shitsuya was called back to the village for his reward.
On his way there he was ambushed by a team of Sand Anbu.
They were strong but puberty didn't only give him ass hair but also much higher chakra reserves and physical strength and stamina.
Cutting through a water clone with his sword coated in wind chakra the final Anbu felt a shiver rundown his spine before his world spun and his vision alternated between earth and sky and finally settled on his headless body spewing out warm blood.
"Looks like lord Mizukage's suspicions were true."
Shitsuya abruptly stared up at the sudden voice and saw something that made his heart skip a beat.
Standing a tree branch above stood Juzo Biwa one of the seven ninja swordsman of the hidden mist with his executioner sword Kubikiribocho.
To his left side sat Jinpachi Munashi who held Shibuki, a sword that wasn't a sword at all and was infact just a giant roll of paper bombs on a stick.
Shitsuya hurriedly knelt on one knee and spoke, "Lord Juzo, lord Jinpachi thank you for your hasty reinforcements but as you can see I've already dispatched these enemies."
Juzo picked so wax from his ear before blowing it away from his finger.
Jumping off the tree he landed Infront of Shitsuya and brandished his sword towards Shitsuya.
"Cut the crap kid we know you're a spy!" Juzo shouted as he swung his sword towards Shitsuya.
Shitsuya dodged backwards before he took off running. Although he might stand a chance against one swordsman, two were impossible to deal with at the moment.
Quickly making distance, Shitsuya ran at top speed and he quickly lost sight of the two swordsman.
He was forced to a stop suddenly as he collided with an invisible wall.
Dizzy from the impact, Shitsuya got up and and felt around the area where felt the wall.
Sure enough Shitsuya felt a wall blocking his way even though he couldn't feel anything.
"Done running so soon?" Juzo spoke as he walked into view from behind a tree.
"You're currently inside Kirigakure's personal spy hunting ground, nothing comes out of here without Kirigakure's permission."
"Give up and you'll be treated as a prisoner of war." Juzo spoke.
Shitsuya didn't reply and instead silently drew his sword, he knew exactly how Kiri treated it's prisoners so he would rather die than be captured.
"Then I'm just gonna have to cut off your limbs and drag you back myself." Juzo spoke menacingly.
