Gu Nanqiao stood up from the bed, "You rest, I'm going to sleep too."
However, Huo Jingting grabbed her hand and spoke softly, "Stay with me a little longer."
She shook off his hand, and heard him seem to hiss in pain. She paused slightly, having just overlooked the fact that his hand was injured.
Gu Nanqiao stood still, not moving forward, yet she didn't turn back either.
"Xiaoqiao," Huo Jingting spoke softly. He took a thin mint cigarette from the cigarette pack and lit it. The smoke swirled around, hiding his expression, "I want to hear the truth from you."
Gu Nanqiao turned around.
The white smoke slowly rose, and she could see his handsome yet bewitching face, now showing a hint of pale blue.
Cold and oppressive, it just made her feel somewhat suffocated.
She nodded, "Speak."
"I want to know, when I initiated the breakup and left, did you hate me?" he asked word by word. The deep and obscure light in his narrow phoenix eyes locked onto her without letting go.
