"Kenzo," the man pulled Teresa's hand and led her to the back of the school building to avoid the people chasing them.
"Where are we going?" Teresa asked.
"Climb," Kenzo pointed towards a ladder attached to the school's back fence.
"Climb this?" Teresa asked.
"Yes, hurry up." Teresa climbed the ladder, followed by Kenzo. He pulled the ladder over to the other side and helped Teresa down.
"Be careful," the man said, holding Teresa's hand as they escaped over the school's back fence.
Teresa laughed afterward; she had never done anything like that before. Climbing a fence was incredibly thrilling.
"Let's go," Teresa walked beside Kenzo, leaving the school and passing through the alleys behind it.
"Where are we going?" Teresa asked again.
"Stop asking so many questions, can you?" Kenzo snapped.
"Okay," Teresa walked beside Kenzo, still staring at the handsome man focused on the road.
"Stop staring at me," Kenzo noticed that Teresa had been watching him the whole time.
Teresa looked away, focusing on the road ahead. She was captivated when she noticed the beautiful path they were walking along, quiet and surrounded by tall trees.
"Wow, this is so beautiful." Teresa took out her phone and snapped a picture of the road. The two of them continued walking down the path and stopped by a river along the way.
"How did I not know there's such a beautiful place like this?" Teresa observed the scenery. Amidst the bustling city, there was a place that was both beautiful and peaceful.
They both sat by the riverbank on the grass, watching the water flow downstream.
Kenzo picked up a stone and threw it into the river, his face expressionless.
"Do you come here often?" Teresa asked, turning her gaze to him.
Kenzo nodded, "I used to come here a lot."
"Used to? So it's been a while then."
Kenzo turned to look at Teresa and stared into her eyes. Teresa was slightly shocked, her heart raced as Kenzo's gaze lingered on her.
"You ask a lot of questions," Kenzo remarked.
Teresa averted her gaze, looking away and clutching her chest. 'Damn, I'm going to have a heart attack,' she muttered to herself.
"Sorry," Teresa smiled awkwardly.
Kenzo then stood up, and Teresa followed suit. She looked up at the cloudy evening sky.
"Let's go back; it's going to rain," Kenzo said.
They walked down the road, just the two of them. Teresa was at a loss for words, too nervous to start a conversation. Her heart was beating too fast. The path eventually led to the main road in front of their school.
"Wait here," Kenzo instructed Teresa to wait on the sidewalk bench.
Teresa sat there alone, watching the cars pass by. The sky grew darker, and raindrops began to fall slowly.
"Oh no, it's raining," Teresa ran to the front of a closed shop. She crouched down, playing with the water trickling down from the shop's roof, letting the raindrops wet her hands.
Teresa looked up when the rain stopped falling on her hands. She saw Kenzo's face behind a clear umbrella.
Teresa stood up and smiled at Kenzo, while he, still expressionless, looked back at her.
Kenzo opened the car door for Teresa. She got in and sat inside the luxurious car again.
"Thanks," Teresa said as Kenzo entered the car.
Kenzo drove the car through the rainy evening.
Teresa watched the raindrops splatter on Kenzo's car, the glass covered in tiny droplets. She traced a circle on the foggy window, added eyes and a smile, then wrote her name.
Kenzo glanced at Teresa and saw what she had drawn on the car window. A faint smile appeared on his lips.
Teresa's expression turned sad; she felt inexplicably sorrowful watching the rain that day. Suddenly, tears welled up in her eyes, and she wiped them away with her hand.
Teresa noticed Kenzo's car passing by their neighborhood. She turned to the man focused on driving.
"You missed the--"
"Quiet," Kenzo interrupted her before she could finish her sentence.
The car entered a large mall in the city.
"Why are we here?" Teresa asked.
The car stopped in the mall's basement, and Kenzo told Teresa to get out. They entered the grand mall together.
"Wow," Teresa had never been inside a mall before. She had lived on the outskirts of the city and didn't have the money to visit such luxurious places.
Teresa followed Kenzo up the escalator to the mall's third floor. She was still amazed by the mall's grandeur and luxury.
Kenzo led Teresa to a bookstore in the mall. Teresa entered and saw countless books—children's books, school books, scientific books—everything was there. Kenzo headed to the section dominated by physics and science books. He picked up a sample book and opened it to check the contents.
Teresa also picked up a book that caught her eye. She opened it and was immediately drawn in by the detailed explanations and material inside. "Wow, this is incredible. The explanations are so detailed," Teresa said.
"Help me find a good book," Kenzo said.
Teresa showed Kenzo the book she was holding. "Try this one, look at the contents. It's comprehensive, and the explanations are good."
Kenzo leaned closer to look at the book. Their faces were very close at that moment, making Teresa's heart race again.
"Okay, let's buy this one." Kenzo turned to Teresa. Their faces were just inches apart.
*Uhuk*
Teresa pretended to cough, unable to handle how close Kenzo's handsome face was. She clutched her chest and handed the book to Kenzo, then looked away.
"Yes, let's buy that one, it's good," Teresa said, flustered.
Kenzo took the book to the cashier and paid for it.
"Here," Kenzo handed the book to Teresa.
"Huh?" Teresa was confused as to why he was giving her the book he had just bought.
"It's for you," he said, then walked out of the store without another word. Teresa hurried after him and stopped him.
"What do you mean by this?" Teresa asked, handing the book back to him.
"It doesn't mean anything," Kenzo replied simply.
"But you're the one who needs it."
"I already have one." It turned out Kenzo had bought two of the same book and was giving one to Teresa. "Consider it a reward for helping me."
Kenzo dodged around Teresa and walked away.
"Thanks, but I can't accept this."
"Then return it to the store."
"Huh?"
Kenzo stopped at an ice cream booth and bought two chocolate-flavored ice creams. He handed one to Teresa.
Kenzo saw Teresa struggling to take the ice cream because of the book she was holding. "Does your bag have no use?"
"Wait, wait," Teresa quickly put the book into her bag and took the ice cream.
"Thanks."

"Hey, isn't that Kenzo?" A girl pointed at the two people standing in front of the ice cream booth.
"That girl is such a bitch," Dona muttered, seeing Kenzo and Teresa walking together in the mall. Dona's face looked furious as she watched the girl.
"Wow, don't underestimate her, Don. That girl is pretty solid."
Dona stared at Teresa, then grinned wickedly. "I have a great idea," she said...
