It has been a full two days since the divorce, and still, there hasn't been a single word from either my family or Adan's regarding the looming lawsuit. To be honest, these past two days have felt like an eternity, as I've been on edge, half-expecting the police to come knocking at my door. But so far, there's been nothing. Just silence.
This morning, after getting fully dressed for work, I slipped into my car and instinctively checked my emails. I had sent a message to Ms. Isabelle a while ago, requesting a reservation, and I've been anxiously awaiting her response. Yet, no reply has come.
As I finally pulled into the company's parking lot, I took a deep breath before stepping out.
I walked inside, briefly nodding at my secretary, who greeted me with her usual polite smile.
"Your father is waiting in your office," she announced calmly.
