Capítulo 26: Chapter 26: Arrival at the Academy

The journey back to the National Sports Academy was a bittersweet one for Rohan. The pain of losing Mr. Kumar was still fresh in his heart, but beneath the sorrow was a renewed sense of purpose. He had promised to carry on Mr. Kumar's legacy, to continue striving for greatness no matter the challenges ahead. As the train sped through the countryside, Rohan found himself reflecting on all that had brought him to this point—the victories and the defeats, the lessons learned, and the sacrifices made.

By the time the Academy's grand gates came into view, Rohan felt a mixture of anticipation and resolve. The Academy, nestled on the outskirts of a bustling city, was a sprawling complex with world-class facilities. The vast grounds were dotted with tracks, fields, swimming pools, and training centers, all designed to help athletes reach their full potential. It was a place of dreams, where the best athletes in the country came to hone their skills and push themselves to new heights.

As Rohan stepped off the train and made his way towards the Academy's entrance, he was struck by the sheer scale of the place. The buildings were modern and imposing, with tall glass facades that gleamed in the sunlight. The grounds were meticulously maintained, with perfectly manicured lawns and pathways lined with trees. Everywhere he looked, there were athletes—running, lifting weights, practicing drills—all focused on becoming the best.

Rohan took a deep breath, feeling a surge of determination. He knew that the competition at the Academy would be fierce, that the athletes here were the best of the best. But he was ready. He had trained hard, pushed himself to his limits, and now it was time to prove that he belonged here.

At the entrance to the main building, Rohan was greeted by a tall, stern-looking man wearing the Academy's official uniform. The man introduced himself as Coach Prakash, one of the senior coaches at the Academy.

"Welcome to the National Sports Academy, Rohan Singh," Coach Prakash said, extending his hand. "I've heard a lot about you. Your performance at the National Championships was impressive."

Rohan shook his hand, feeling a mix of pride and humility. "Thank you, sir. I'm honored to be here."

Coach Prakash nodded, his expression serious. "The Academy is a place for those who are truly dedicated to their craft. We push our athletes to their limits and beyond. It won't be easy, but if you're willing to put in the work, you'll find that the rewards are worth it."

"I'm ready to work hard, sir," Rohan replied, his voice filled with determination. "I'm here to learn and to become the best I can be."

"That's the spirit we like to see," Coach Prakash said, a hint of approval in his tone. "Now, let's get you settled in. I'll show you to your dormitory, and then we'll take a tour of the facilities."

As they walked through the Academy's grounds, Rohan couldn't help but feel a sense of awe. The facilities were unlike anything he had ever seen—state-of-the-art gymnasiums, high-tech training centers, and specialized tracks designed for every type of athletic event. There were also medical and rehabilitation centers, where athletes could receive top-notch care for injuries and recover faster than ever before.

"This is where champions are made," Coach Prakash said as they passed by the main track, where a group of runners were sprinting at breakneck speeds. "But it takes more than just talent to succeed here. Discipline, focus, and mental toughness are just as important as physical ability."

Rohan nodded, taking in every word. He had learned those lessons from Mr. Kumar, but he knew that he would need to take them to a whole new level here at the Academy.

They arrived at the dormitory, a modern, multi-story building that housed athletes from all over the country. The dormitory was divided into sections, each designated for different sports disciplines. Rohan was assigned to the athletics section, where he would be living alongside other runners, jumpers, and throwers.

As they entered the building, Rohan noticed a group of athletes lounging in the common area, chatting and laughing after a long day of training. They glanced up as Rohan and Coach Prakash walked in, and Rohan felt their eyes on him, assessing, curious.

"This is your dormitory," Coach Prakash said, leading Rohan to a door marked with his name. "You'll be sharing this room with another athlete, a long-distance runner named Sandeep. He's one of our top performers, so you're in good company."

Rohan thanked Coach Prakash and entered the room. It was a simple but comfortable space, with two beds, two desks, and a shared closet. The walls were decorated with motivational posters and photos of famous athletes—icons who had inspired countless young sportsmen and women.

Sitting on one of the beds was a lean, tall boy with short-cropped hair and a focused expression. He looked up as Rohan entered, and a friendly smile spread across his face.

"Hey, you must be Rohan," the boy said, standing up and extending his hand. "I'm Sandeep. Welcome to the Academy."

Rohan shook his hand, feeling a sense of relief at the warm greeting. "Thanks, Sandeep. It's great to meet you."

Sandeep motioned for Rohan to sit on the bed opposite his. "I've heard a lot about you. Your win at the Nationals was pretty impressive. How are you finding the Academy so far?"

Rohan sat down, feeling the comfort of the bed beneath him. "It's amazing. The facilities are incredible, and the level of competition here is… intense."

Sandeep nodded knowingly. "Yeah, it can be a bit overwhelming at first, but you'll get used to it. Everyone here is really focused on their training, but we're also like a big family. We push each other to be better, and there's a lot of camaraderie."

Rohan felt a sense of camaraderie already forming between them. "That sounds good. I'm looking forward to getting into the training routine and seeing how far I can push myself."

"You'll fit right in," Sandeep said, grinning. "But be prepared for some tough days. The coaches here don't go easy on anyone."

Rohan chuckled, feeling a mix of excitement and anticipation. "I wouldn't expect them to."

The next morning, Rohan woke up early, his body still adjusting to the new environment. He got dressed quickly, pulling on the Academy's training gear, and made his way to the cafeteria for breakfast. The cafeteria was bustling with athletes from all over the country, each focused on fueling up for the intense training sessions ahead.

Rohan grabbed a tray and joined Sandeep at a table near the window. As they ate, Sandeep introduced Rohan to some of the other athletes—sprinters, hurdlers, jumpers—all of whom had their own stories of triumph and determination.

"Everyone here has a story," Sandeep explained. "We've all come from different places, but we share the same goal—to be the best. And that's what drives us every day."

Rohan listened intently, feeling inspired by the stories he heard. Each athlete had faced their own challenges, but they had all persevered, driven by a passion for their sport. It was a reminder that the path to greatness was never easy, but it was always worth it.

After breakfast, Rohan and Sandeep made their way to the main track for the morning training session. As they arrived, they were met by Coach Prakash and a group of other coaches, all of whom were ready to put the athletes through their paces.

"Today, we're focusing on speed and agility," Coach Prakash announced, his voice carrying over the sound of footsteps and chatter. "We'll be doing a series of sprints, followed by agility drills. I want to see maximum effort from each of you. Remember, every second counts."

The athletes lined up at the starting line, and Rohan felt a familiar rush of adrenaline as he prepared for the first sprint. The intensity of the competition around him was palpable, and Rohan knew that he would need to give it his all to keep up with the others.

The whistle blew, and Rohan surged forward, his legs pumping with power as he raced down the track. The wind whipped past his face, and he could feel the strain in his muscles as he pushed himself to go faster. The other athletes were right there with him, each one pushing their limits, each one determined to be the best.

The sprints were followed by a series of agility drills, designed to test the athletes' quickness and coordination. Rohan found himself weaving through cones, leaping over hurdles, and making sharp turns, all while maintaining his speed and control. The drills were intense, but Rohan relished the challenge, feeling his body respond to the demands of the training.

As the session wore on, Rohan began to find his rhythm. The early morning fatigue faded away, replaced by a sense of focus and determination. He could feel the energy of the other athletes around him, each one pushing themselves to be better, to reach new heights.

By the time the session ended, Rohan was drenched in sweat, his muscles aching from the effort. But there was a sense of satisfaction in knowing that he had given everything he had. He had kept up with the best, and he knew that he was only going to get stronger from here.

Coach Prakash called the athletes together for a final debrief. "Good work today," he said, his tone serious but approving. "You all showed a lot of effort and determination. But remember, this is just the

beginning. The training will get tougher, and the competition will only get more intense. You need to stay focused, stay disciplined, and keep pushing yourselves every day."

Rohan nodded, feeling a sense of resolve. He knew that the road ahead would be challenging, but he was ready to face whatever came his way. The National Sports Academy was a place where champions were made, and Rohan was determined to be one of them.

As the athletes dispersed, Rohan felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned to see Sandeep, who was grinning from ear to ear.

"You did great out there, Rohan," Sandeep said, his voice filled with encouragement. "You're going to fit in just fine here."

Rohan smiled, feeling a sense of camaraderie and belonging. "Thanks, Sandeep. I'm just getting started."

And with that, Rohan knew that he was ready to take on whatever challenges lay ahead. The Academy was a place of intense competition and grueling training, but it was also a place of growth, learning, and opportunity. Rohan had come a long way to get here, and he was determined to make the most of every moment.
