"Listen to me." Fatty spoke up, gaining the six Hunters' attention. "The gate isn't a place to take a leisure stroll." He said. He stood in front of the six rookie Hunters he chose for Yoonho's rookie training gate.
"Is your team ready?" a Voice came from behind Fatty, who turned around in response.
"Kim Chul." Fatty nodded. "We are ready." He confirmed, looking at the person in front of him.
Kim Chul was a large and muscular young man sporting a blueish buzz cut. He wore a gray suit of armor with a furry collar with a shield on his back. Kim Chul was also an A-Rank Tank Hunter.
"This isn't a playground." Kim Chul spoke as he and Fatty stood next to each other, sneering at a group of people on the side. "Why would Ahn Sangmin let a group of E-Ranks join?"
Fatty looked at the direction Kim Chul sneered and nodded. "Let's just focus on clearing the gate." He suggested. Fatty also didn't like the fact that a random bunch of E-Ranks could join.
Not long after, everyone stood in front of the gate, ready to enter. "Let's go!" Kim Chul commanded as they strode into the gate with him and Fatty in the front.
*Whooosh!*
After they entered the gate, Fatty felt a cold wind blowing against his face, forcing him to close his eyes. Opening it slowly, he looks at the vast forest in front of him.
'Shit.'
---
Mori put his phone into his pocket. He had just been informed that the Gate they entered was a red gate. 'So it begins.' He thought, staring at the building in front of him.
[Vulture Guild]
"Haaah" a Man sat at his desk, sighing at his own thoughts within his dark office. This man is, Kang-Dae Jo, the Guild Master of Vulture Guild. His black eyes stare through the black hair falling on his face, looking at the darkening sky through his window. "So you've come." He suddenly says out loud.
Mori stood behind Kang-Dae, silently looking at the man.
Kang-Dae wasn't surprised at Mori's arrival as a subordinate had handed him a piece of paper a few days ago. One that Mori wrote. On it stood two words: 'Prepare yourself.' Kang-Dae didn't dwell too much on the oncoming destruction of his Guild. 'Such is life.' He thought.
The Vulture Guild was a guild mostly comprised of ex-cons that awakened as Hunters. The Guild used all means necessary to climb up the ranks while not caring whether they had killed a few people during their climb.
Kang-Dae slowly stood up and unsheathed his Katana that hung at his waist. Turning around, Kang-Dae nods at Mori.
"You seem composed for a man who's going to die meaningless." Mori spoke his first words, his tone even.
Kang-Dae chuckled at Mori's words. "I have made many enemies... And I struck them all down!" His voice raised at the second sentence, his eyes bloodshot as mana erupts from his sword. "I do not care for my enemies! Only the strong thrive in this world! Do you not see my power?!" He bellowed, lifting his sword before appearing in front of Mori, slicing his sword down.
"I see only what I've come to destroy." Mori's calm voice reached Kang-Dae's ears as he watches on in horror at the sight in front of him. His blade. The blade he had used to cut down thousands who stood in his way. The same blade, was now between two fingers.
"W-What?" Kang-Dae's voice trembled. "What spells have you used?! What manipulation has been thrown in my head?!" He cried out, not believing his eyes.
"Shhh." Mori places his left hand's finger on his lips, shushing the man in front of him. "What will you do now? You can no longer hide behind your pitiful power." As he spoke, he tensed his two fingers that held the sword, ignoring the struggling man.
*Crack... Crack.*
Kang-Dae watched on as cracks traveled through his blade before it shatters, sending pieces flying through the air. "No!" He yelled, gripping the handle of his katana and striking it towards Mori.
Mori calmly deflects the punch and throws one of his own out.
*Bam!*
Mori's fist collided with the man's jaw, lifting him off the ground and sending him into a wall. Mori calmly walks towards the unconscious Kang-Dae. "Oh ho no. I say when we're done." He says, picking the man up.
---
"Aaaargh!" Fatty cried out as a Yeti's fist slammed against his shield, sending him tumbling into the team behind him. Scrambling to his feet, Fatty charges towards the ape-like yeti once more. "Dealers! Just this last one!" Fatty yelled toward the people behind him as he stood next to Kim Chul.
Not a minute after, a swordsman flew above the two, striking the yeti's face with his sword, cutting it's cheek open. The swordsman kicks the yeti's face to send himself back just as a fireball crashes in the yeti's face.
"Auuu..." The yeti stumbles before falling to the ground. Dead.
"Haaah! Fuck." Fatty cursed as he fell on his ass, panting. His armor painted in a mix between his blood and the yetis'. Next to him, Kim Chul slowly sat down, also panting.
"Fuck. How many casualties?" Kim Chul cursed and asked the swordsman that stood above the yeti's corpse.
The swordsman's eyes looked tired as he spoke. "It's just us four left." He declared, gesturing towards the mage who laid on the ground sweating profusely.
Fatty slammed the ground beneath him. 'Are we really going to die like this?' He thought. 'I left four members with the weak group and only took the two strong Hunters.' Fatty glanced at the swordsman at the front. 'One died...'
"We need to head back." Fatty spoke up. "We lost most of the team after this fight. We can't get through this..." His words made the people present look down. "We need to devise a plan with the rest of the Hunters in the gate."
Kim Chul sneered at the proposition, but kept his mouth shut. He knew they had nothing else to go on right now, so he nodded at Fatty before they all shakily started walking back in the direction they came from.
After half an hour of walking, they spotted smoke from a fire somewhere in the woods. "Let's go." Fatty commanded, starting to sprint, fearing the weaker Hunters got into trouble. But as they grew closer, they heard laughter and chatting. "The fuck..?" Fatty muttered as he stopped at the sight of people gathered around a campfire, all of them wearing thick clothing to block out the cold.
"What the fuck?!" Kim Chul shouted in rage, scaring the Hunters who were sitting around the fire. Kim Chul stepped forward and grabbed a man's collar. "What the fuck is this?! We risk our lives, fighting the bitter cold and monsters! And you guys had food and clothes?!"
Fatty grabbed Kim Chul's arm. "Calm down. We need to figure out what happened here." He said as Kim Chul released the man.
You see, it hadn't gone as it was supposed to. Instead of Kim Chul breaking up the group, Fatty had suggested that the stronger Hunters go look for the Boss monster while the weaker ones stayed behind and waited for them. Fatty had even left two B-Rank hunters from his Guild at the weaker group for protection.
But this? Fatty was just as enraged as Kim Chul.
