"Lyn, you need to walk faster," Griselda tugged the girl's hand, making her way through the dark woods without any fire torch to aid them. The older woman was still able to navigate through the dense forest. It was only then that Jacquelyn understood the reason Griselda had always been able to see in the dark, it was because she was a witch. If it had been in the past, Jacquelyn would have asked many questions, but at the moment, her mind was a mess.

Jacquelyn kept turning her head at several intervals. They had already gone far from Morville Castle, but she could still see the cross on the roof, now fading, and it frightened her. After what had happened earlier with Kael, she was still trying to pull her mind together after seeing the carnage the vampire king had caused.
