"I got burned because of you! Why did you make the chicken soup so hot?"

"So that's why," Blanché crossed her arms. "Miss Leslie, please understand some basic physics; it was your own choice to drink the soup."

Victoria also chimed in anxiously, "Miss Leslie, it's all my fault. I'll be more careful."

"What are you butting in for? The person I'm looking for is Blanché."

Blanché knew that Leslie was deliberately trying to provoke her. She wouldn't back down, so let Leslie vent her frustrations.

"Blanché, you're not the mistress of this villa; you're here to serve me, hired by Allen."

"Uh-huh."

"What kind of chicken soup is this? It has a strange smell and burned my hand. You did that on purpose, didn't you?"

Blanché remained noncommittal, but Victoria's head hung lower and lower.

"You have to bring me chicken soup every day until I'm satisfied!"
