"Is anyone there… can someone help me open the door?"
The villa wasn't just occupied by Blanche and Allen; she called out, hoping someone would come to help her.
But there was no response. Allen had just stepped away from his computer, and Jason was sound asleep. Blanche couldn't help but feel anxious; if she had to spend the night outside, it would be a disaster.
She was only wearing a dress, and with the temperature dropping, it was getting a bit cold. Blanche rubbed her arms and, seeing Allen's shirt, picked one up and put it on.
Just a short while after she had put it on, large raindrops began to fall. As the saying goes, "When it rains, it pours." The torrential rain seemed to be against her, splashing against the hem of her dress, and before long, her lower half was completely soaked.
Blanche sheltered under the eaves, dragging her wet dress and wiping the rain off her face, wishing she could just kick the door open.
