The sound of clicking keys filled the hotel suite as I typed out an email.

Time waited for no man and my work as CEO and chairman of Imperium wasn't going to stop just because I was out here playing queenmaker.

After sending the necessary emails, I went through the financial projections. The latest numbers from Walk Shop's integration were promising and I was already drafting a memo to the board about next steps.

That was when I heard the knock on my door. I blinked before glancing at the clock.

I hadn't been expecting anyone and it was still early enough in the night to tell me it wasn't a mistake. Someone was here to see me.

I stood up from my chair and walked to the door. I opened it and froze for a second.

Standing there was the person I least expected. Well, not at this time of the night.
