Capítulo 3: Chapter 3

Harry looked out the window as his father was having fun with his younger brother. This time he had wanted to go fly for a while and play quidditch, something quite common in that family, his family, although it seemed that no one was able to remember it. He sighed with disappointment, his brother had done it again, taking advantage of the fact that it was his brother's birthday to monopolize all of his parent's attention and once again ensure that they did not remember him.

He should be used to it, after all his parents had never remembered his birthday if he knew it was because Remus had always celebrated it and had given him a book... if anyone asked him, Remus was the only person who actually remembered, worried about him.

Just thinking about Remus, he would be about to arrive, he always used to come around ten in the morning and it was almost ten... he would surely be arriving very soon via the floo network, so it was best that I go wait for him in the living room. , so that way I wouldn't waste any time. He was about to leave the room, when a tapping on the window glass made him turn around, There, waiting for him to let her in, was a brown owl with a letter.

Believing that it would most likely be for one of his parents, he let her in, He was very surprised when it landed on his desk and extended its paw for him to untie the letter.

"For me?"

At the bird's affirmative hooting, the child approached and took the letter from her, which was addressed to him in emerald green ink, after all, only he answered to H.J. Potter. When he turned the letter to see who the sender was, his breath caught, that sealing seal was known to any child of English wizards... it was the seal of Hogwarts, school of Magic and Wizardry! And it was for him! He was so excited, his parents and his brother had always told him that he couldn't go, that they would never accept him... although Remus had told him millions of times that they would accept him, he had always been left with the uncertainty of whether his parents would allow it.

With trembling hands, he slowly opened the letter and opened both scrolls. The second was the list of the materials he would need and the other was a letter addressed to him inviting him to attend!

"Harry? You're in your room?"

"Uncle Remus!" The child fussed, running to meet the adult. "Uncle Remus, look!"

The man took the letter with a smile and began to read it happily while hugging him.

"Your admission letter... very good, Harry." The werewolf said happily. "I told you there would be no problem with your admission. Remember?"

"Yes, I know... but dad and mom said..."

"Your parents said it based on erroneous data, that way they couldn't say anything more than that... I already warned you that they were wrong... they don't know you like I know you."

Remus hugged him lightly and then reached into one of his pockets, pulling out a small package wrapped in rough brown packing paper. With a slight movement of his wand, he unshrinked it, adopting the size of a book.

"I hope you like it..." He laughed. "It's getting more and more difficult for me to give you interesting books..."

Harry smiled happily, before taking the package and with his usual slow and careful pace, he began to unwrap the package, already knowing what its contents were, partly because it was what Remus used to give him and partly because Remus himself gave it to him. had confirmed. With a slight feeling of anticipation, he finished removing the wrapping, revealing the title of the book, 'Occlumency, the art of protection.'

"Oh, Uncle Remus! It's fantastic! Thank you very much!" The boy fussed.

"I'm glad you like it." The man laughed. "Now, what do you think if we go in search of your parents to inform them of your letter and send a response?" When asked, the boy adopted a sad expression.

"They won't let me go."

"Why not?"

"Because Brian won't want me to go, and Mom and Dad will do whatever Brian wants."

"Ahhhhh... but this time, Brian won't be able to say anything about it" Remus laughed. "Your parents will have to let you go... they are obliged by law. So... Shall we go?"

"OK."

They both left the room and crossed the silent house until they left it. Once outside, they were both able to observe the scene unfolding before them. On the one hand, Lily Potter remained on the ground, her eyes almost did not leave her husband and son, while she enjoyed the arrangements of the picnic, For his part, James Potter, was enjoying his favorite hobby after his various pranks, he was flying and the best thing was doing it with his son... from his point of view, there was no better way to spend free time. They were all so immersed in their own ideal world that none of them realized the presence of the other two until Remus himself became present.

"Hello Lily"

"Oh, Remus! Oh, and Harry… Remus, what are you doing here?"

"What you are not capable of doing, you can see." The man said angrily. "Celebrate your son's birthday."

"But... there are still two weeks until Brian's birthday."

"From your other son."

"My other son?" The woman seemed really confused. "Oh, from Harry! But today is not Harry's birthday. Remus, Harry's birthday is..."

"Today," Remus cut her off. "But that doesn't matter, you haven't celebrated his birthday for ten years, so I don't think it makes a big difference."

The man was very angry. He had always had friction with his friends because of the way they treated their eldest son. He had always been very fond of the little boy even though Sirius was his godfather. It had been like this, since he was eight years old, when he discovered that the fourth in the group, Peter, was a Death Eater and that he was preparing to harm Harry. Since then, and after realizing that his parents didn't care in the slightest that their son was in potential danger, he had grown fond of the sweet boy.

"Well, that's not what I meant." Remus cut the subject off. "Look."

The man passed the letter to his friend's wife and watched as her face filled with surprise as she read the contents of it, while alternating between reading and looking at her eldest son. Once he finished, he looked up and screamed.

"James! Now!"

Her husband looked at her in surprise, and when he saw his eldest son and his friend, he adopted an angry expression. He quickly climbed down and shot her an angry look before softening his expression, he turned to his wife and friend.

"Yes, Lily? What have you done now, Harry?"

"Nothing, James..." Remus cut him off. "I don't understand why you always think the worst of him and never doubt Brian's word."

"Brian would never…!"

"It doesn't matter, we haven't come for that."

"So?"

"Look what just arrived," his wife responded, handing him the letter for him to read.

The man read the letter and cast a stupefied look at his eldest son. It was obvious that this was not what he had been expecting, the Hogwarts letter was the last thing on his mind.

"Wow... and I always thought you were nothing more than a squib." The man murmured in surprise. "Life is full of surprises. Have you already responded?"

"No, not yet." The boy murmured shyly. "Not without your permission."

"Well..." His father began to say, but Brian had been listening, and he was getting angrier and angrier.

"NO! He can't go! I don't want him to!"

[T/N,little Sh*t]

"Brian, honey..." Lily began.

"No! I don't want you to go to Hogwarts! I'll go to Hogwarts!"

His parents looked at him helplessly, they had always given him everything Brian wanted, They had done anything that made him happy, after all, he was a special child, less than giving everything to him... but now he asked for something that couldn't be.

"Brian, love... Harry must go to Hogwarts." His mother began to tell him. "He is a wizard and must learn to use his power... besides, every magical child must go to school by law."

"But…"

"Just because Harry goes to Hogwarts, it doesn't mean you can't go. You understand, right?"

The boy adopted an angry expression before turning around and entering the house, slamming the door. The others looked at the child between astonishment and indifference. His parents were stunned by their son's behavior, while Remus and Harry showed no signs of surprise... of course, they both knew Brian much better than James and Lily Potter. Not two seconds later, his mother ran to comfort him, while James stood outside looking at his eldest son with displeasure.

"Well... since you haven't answered yet, answer. We'll see what day I can take you to buy your things." James said about to turn around to go back inside his house.

"I had thought about getting it myself, James," Remus replied.

"Will you do me this favor? You'll tell me when you can take him."

"I had thought about taking him today."

James stopped and turned to look at his friend in surprise, without understanding why he would want to spend that day with Harry, a boy who had never shown any signs of having any interest... compared to his younger brother, he has less than zero.

[T/N, Negative interests?]

"Because?"

"Because I already intended to take it today, James, the arrival of your letter only means that in addition to having fun, we also do useful things."

"Well, if it's not a bother... Come, I'll leave you the key to Gringotts so you can get some money and buy his supplies."

Harry looked at his father and uncle in amazement, before smiling, happy with how things had turned out. He knew that when he returned later, his brother would make his life miserable, but for now, he would enjoy the moment.

Without leaving his uncle's side, he followed his father into the house and entered the office, a place that he was forbidden to enter, only Brian and his mother could enter, not him. Despite all the times he had imagined it, he found that it was nothing like his mental image of it... this seemed more like a quiet place where he could relax than a serious place of work. His father reached into a drawer and pulled out a small golden key, which Harry knew from all the times his parents had used to buy things for his little brother.

"Here you are Remus, I hope you control him and don't give in to his whims... You'll go get his school supplies and nothing else" The man said seriously.

The other adult shot his father an angry look before nodding in disgust and turning to leave, the boy close behind.

"Okay, Harry, do you want to grab something before we leave?" the man asked.

"No, Uncle Remus."

"Well, let's go."

The two headed to the fireplace, where after throwing the floo powder, they both disappeared from the Potter house to reappear in the Leaky Cauldron.

"You know, Uncle Remus? This is my first time using the Floo network."

"Really?"

"Yes... Dad and mom don't usually take me anywhere."

"So, you've never been to Diagon Alley either, right?"

"Never... when they go with Brian, they leave me at home."

Remus did not answer him again, but the boy saw how his uncle clenched his hands in anger. Then, putting his hand on his right shoulder, he guided him to the entrance of the Alley that was at the back of the store, a tiny dead-end street. The boy watched in amazement as Remus took out his wand and tapped on certain bricks, just before an entrance opened to the street that screamed "Magic!" all over. For a few moments, the boy had the itch to run out and go see everything, but since he knew well that then he would get lost and that it would be very difficult to meet Remus again, he stayed by his side. Of course, he moved his head in all directions and wished he had eight more eyes so he could see everything. A laugh behind him made him turn around in fear, where he saw Remus laughing at him.

"I'm sorry, Harry, but your reaction was very funny., The man said. "Do you like it?"

"A lot!"

"I imagined. Shall we go to Gringotts to get your money?"

"Yeah come on."

As they passed through the store Harry wished he could be in several places at once, so that he could see everything... of all the stores, it was the bookstore that gave him more willpower not to run away because obviously being surrounded by so many books it was really tempting. Still, he didn't separate from Remus.

"Is that Gringotts, Uncle Remus?" Harry asked as soon as he saw a large building built of white marble.

"Yes, be careful with goblins... they can be really dangerous."

"Because?"

"Goblins don't like us... and if they feel cheated, they won't hesitate to act against us. You can count on the fingers of one hand the ones who will treat you with respect." Remus explained as they entered and headed to a counter. "Now, be quiet for a moment while I talk to them..." Then turning to an unoccupied goblin. "Excuse me, I would like to make a withdrawal in the Potter vault."

"Key, please?" Said the goblin.

"Here."

The goblin took it and looked sharply at both Remus and Harry, before staring at the key intently. After a few minutes, the goblin seemed content and looked back at Remus.

"All in order. Do you want to go down to the vault or, on the contrary, would you prefer that we provide you with the desired amount?" Said the goblin.

"You better give it to us right here," Remus said. "We need about thirty galleons... no, better forty."

"Very good."

They waited for a few moments while the goblin withdrew the money and placed it in a leather bag and handed it to the werewolf, who did not hesitate before taking it and placing it in one of his inner pockets. Later, after saying goodbye to the goblin who had attended them, they left the bank ready to start making their school purchases.

First of all, they went to compare their robes and for that, Remus guided Harry to a shop that had a sign that said in large red letters, "Madam Malkin, robes for all occasions" and that the boy found it a fascinating place. There, as soon as you entered, you could see tunics everywhere and, as the sign indicated, of all possible kinds.

"Good morning," said a kind-looking witch. "How can I help you?"

"We need a set of school robes for him," Remus answered as he looked at the boy smiling.

"Hogwarts?"

"Exactly."

"Very well... dear, if you come this way." The witch told him kindly, while she guided him to some stools. "Let's see..."

While the witch worked, Harry kept his eyes on her, observing everything with great attention, almost as if he wanted to learn that same trade. From his point of view, any type of magic was magnificent and deserved to be studied carefully.

"Ready, dear." The witch laughed as she smiled at him. "You can go down now."

The witch picked up the robe she had arranged to fit the boy and after a few waves of her wand, four more robes were lying next to her and they were wrapped into a small triangular package. After that, they paid and left for the potion supply shop.

Once they entered the shop, Harry felt more excited about the things he was seeing around him… potions were one of the subjects he had read the most, and at Hogwarts, he could experiment without anyone bothering him. He was about to ask Remus if he would let him investigate a little, when a low, slimy voice cut him off.

[T/N, In the original, it says Snape's voice is described as "silky", I prefer slimy or nausily]

"Wow, wow... Lupine. I didn't imagine finding you in an apothecary of your own free will."

"Hello Severus, I guess I can't say I'm surprised to see you in a store like this," Remus said calmly. "I've been accompanying Harry to buy his supplies... this next year he'll be your student."

"A Potter, right?"

"Yes, the oldest. Harry, this is Professor Severus Snape, he is the potions master at Hogwarts."

"Nice to meet you." The boy said and taking advantage of being given the floor, he asked his initial question. "Uncle Remus, can I look at the ingredients while you prepare the ones we need for school?"

"Sure, Harry, I'll be here."

"Thank you."

The boy walked away from the adults and began to look at every one of the ingredients they had there while imagining all the potions he could make with them. He timidly took some of them, not the most expensive ones, but just some of the ones that were not required at school, and took them to where Remus was waiting for him without a word, he picked up the ingredients and with a smile placed them next to the others.

"Do you like potions, Mr. Potter?" Professor Snape asked.

"Yes, sir, they fascinate me."

"I see that you have collected fairy dust... could you tell me what its qualities are?"

"They have euphoric qualities, sir. They are normally used to make antidepressant potions and also for aesthetic potions... although they are also used by a few for potions of great strength and mixed with quartz powder they can produce a strong sleeping pill." The boy explained.

"Very well, Mr. Potter," the man said surprised. "I think I'll want to have you in my class for a change. You will be a very welcome change. See you in September, Mr. Potter."

After that, they both watched as the Professor walked away from them and the store, while they waited for the clerk to finish serving them and charge them so they could buy the rest of their school supplies.

After their stop at the apothecary and buying a cauldron, they decided to go get their wand a little before getting their books, Harry didn't know why, but the fact of acquiring his wand made him nervous, he had the feeling that something that wouldn't be very normal was going to happen. The store wasn't anything out of this world either, but the whole place screamed "MAGIC!" everywhere to a trained eye like yours. There were thousands of wands in their respective boxes placed all over the shelves and the boy was drawn to a shelf in the back. A slight movement in his back and a buzz of magic made him aware of the presence of an elderly man in the back who was slightly hidden as he approached them.

"Good afternoon," said a low, soft voice. "I'm glad to see you, Mr. Potter, I was waiting for you... I remember when your parents came to buy their first wand... by the way, where are they? I'd have thought they would accompany him."

"They were busy and I came in their place," Remus said.

"Remus Lupin! Walnut and dragon heartstring… good for Defense Against the Dark Arts, nine inches. Am I wrong?"

"No, you're not wrong."

"Well... let's see if we can find the perfect partner for Mr. Potter. Let's see... Wand hand?"

"Right"

"Well... let's see..."

A measuring tape appeared out of nowhere and began measuring every part of the boy's body imaginable, then fell lifelessly to the ground.

"Okay, try this one. Maple and phoenix feather..." Before he could say anything he snatched it from his hands. "No, no... it's not going well, oak and unicorn hair... Neither... Walnut and unicorn hair... No, no..."

Mr. Ollivanders, the owner of the store, tried wand after wand, but it seemed that none of them were compatible with the child. But instead of getting angry, sulking or frustrated the man was increasingly happy and excited. With each wand that Ollivanders put in his hands, his enthusiasm increased until finally, he was practically jumping.

"Good, good, good... What a difficult client! I wonder if... Wait a moment." The man disappeared into the back room to return with a wand that he placed uncertainly in his hands. "Holly and Phoenix Feather... try it." Nothing happened. "Curious... I was convinced that this would be his wand. …well, we will continue testing. Right, Mr. Potter?"

The boy nodded and as the shopkeeper returned the wand to the same place he had taken it from, Harry headed to where he had been drawn before, a place where there was also a magic wand, although somewhat isolated... tremulously he took it and before Remus could stop him he shook it causing a sea of white sparks to come out of the wand. Behind him, the sound of several boxes falling to the ground made the boy turn around in surprise. There was the owner of the store looking at him as if Harry had transformed into Voldemort himself.

"It's incredible... really incredible. Mr. Potter, would you be so kind as to wave your wand again?" Harry did as he was asked and once again a sea of white sparks appeared. "I never thought I would see the day when that wand found a companion..." Then he smiled. "You must be very proud, Mr. Potter, that wand has been in this shop since the day my first ancestor opened it... it is a very powerful wand, one that many would kill for... The Unspeakable included."

"What is its core?" The boy asked, he had always been attracted to everything magical.

"It is made with wood from a century-old cherry tree... that was already in its day, now it will be a thousand years old... nineteen and a half centimeters... it has as its core the feather of a very special phoenix..."

"How special?"

"It is a mythological phoenix... very little has been seen and it is believed to be extinct by the most gullible, others think it never existed... it is the feather of a white phoenix, Mr. Potter... the only feather that has been available throughout the history." There was a gasp right behind Harry, where Remus was, and after a dumbfounded look, he asked.

"A white phoenix?"

"Yes, white." Ollivanders stated.

"Mr. Ollivanders." The werewolf said after a few moments of silence. "I would appreciate it if the core of the wand remained a secret... No one except the three of us should know exactly what the core is." Then after a hard look, he added. "When Writing to Dumbledore, you should tell him that it is just any phoenix feather... It is very important that no one else knows."

"I don't understand your motives, Mr. Lupine, but I see that it is something really important. Very well, to anyone who asks me, I'll tell them that it has a phoenix feather, not what kind... After all, only Dumbledore would believe me."

After that, they left the store to buy the only thing they were missing, the textbooks, something that Harry was going to enjoy buying and Remus encouraged in himself.

If there was one thing Harry loved most, it was his books on magic, it had always been like that... Remus still remembered when seven years ago, he had found the boy reading a book that had to be beyond his comprehension... By Merlin, he just had four years and even he would have trouble understanding it! That was when he knew that the boy was Ravenclaw material and he had no doubt that this would end up being his home... His thirst for knowledge was insatiable... although right now, he was capable of understanding things much better. Dumbledore made a mistake ten years ago …it wasn't about Brian, it was about Harry… For years, the old man had not only allowed James and Lily's behavior toward their eldest son, he had encouraged it. Now he would no longer allow him the chance to control his little one…he would not allow him to try to manipulate his pup.

[T/N, This is actually really interesting for me, I'm reading this while Translating it so I know just as much as you guys. Also, why do the Spanish have gnomes instead of Goblins in the banks! Such a pain. Drop a few stones and maybe insult me in the comments or something]
