Hirvan stood in the dim hallway, frozen, unsure of his next move. His chest tightened as he hesitantly pulled out his phone, his trembling hands scrolling to Lu Hanbing's number. His finger hovered over the screen before pressing call, and he held his breath as the phone rang, each beep echoing loudly in his ears, intensifying the silence around him.
The beep dragged on, unanswered. Hirvan's heart skipped a beat.
'Why is he not picking up?'
Just as he felt his mind tipping into a full-blown panic, the door of the apartment flew open with a force that startled him. He jumped, nearly dropping his phone as Lu Hanbing's silhouette filled the doorway, his expression a mixture of anger and disappointment. There was a coldness in his gaze that made Hirvan shiver.
"So, you still remember our number. I had this faint hope that maybe you had lost it. But no, you just did not want to call us. Isn't that Right?"
