Scrolling through his phone, Hirvan's eyes froze on the screen. A missed call from Elian, yesterday. Then there was a record of a one-minute conversation with him. After that nothing.
He frowned, his mind blank as he tried to recall if he had answered it, but there was nothing. Not even a faint memory.
His brow furrowed deeper.
'Who had spoken to Elian?'
'Could it have been Fu Yan? Or maybe...?'
A sudden wave of panic washed over him. Hirvan sat up abruptly, ignoring the sharp pain that surged through his body.
"No!" he yelled, his voice cracking with urgency.
"Did I accidentally touch the answer button? Was it during... that?!" His eyes widened as the terrifying thought took shape.
"What if Elian heard everything? Our voices...
Or what if Lu Hanbing was the one…."
His breath hitched. "Am I totally screwed?!"
