Capítulo 47: Dorne

(Rhaegon's POV)

"Hm...." I said as I rode atop Morghul, "I figured the heat would bother me....it feels rather nice..."

As Morghul burst through some clouds, I saw Sunspear in the far distance. It was a few days since I left King's Landing, I stopped at Storm's End for a couple of things and had Morghul gorge on some feed before we took to the skies again.

Word had already reached them that I was on my way so that the palace doesn't get alarmed of a Dragon reaching them. The last time I was here, I had taken Morghul to Sunspear by flying in a direct straight line from Storm's End during the night. It was one of my favorite tactics to use; use Morghul's obsidian color to my advantage and fly without being spotted high in the sky.

This time, it was broad daylight and I noticed several Dornish ships on the water as I flew somewhat lower than the last time. They probably spotted me and were assured that I was not going to cause any harm.

Morghul let out a roar, announcing his arrival as we neared Sunspear.

I chuckled and patted his hide, "Easy, boy." I said, "Best get comfortable here, we'll stay a while."

He shook his head as he let out a rumble, slowly gliding towards the Palace.

I wonder if Oberyn is here. I had only met his brother, Prince Doran once, after my duel with the Red Viper. He seemed rather annoyed at the fact that I flew straight to his home just to fight. But he was rather impressed that I was such a skilled warrior.

He wasn't the only one I impressed; Areo Hotah and the Sand Snakes. I knew they were formidable warriors, but I paid them no mind. I had a feeling that if I interacted with them in any way, I might've set them off by accident, them being Oberyn's daughters. Areo Hotah, however, praised my skill and even shook my hand.

It was quite surreal. But oh well, I fought Oberyn, left it at a stalemate, and just left. That was it. I didn't realize that the Dornish people would take it so well. Oberyn must've spoken highly of me, I suppose.

Oh well. Let's see where this goes.

"Ser Rhaegon Baratheon." Prince Doran said as he sat in his chair, "Son of the lovely Shaena and the Demon, Robert. How good it is to see you."

I heard Morghul rumble behind me as I patted my clothes, "Prince Doran." I said as I nodded, "I thank you for taking me into your home."

We were in a courtyard, Prince Doran had been awaiting me with a score of guard, Areo being there as well.

"Last time you were here, You left quite the impression, Ser Rhaegon." Doran said, "Challenging my brother, Oberyn, to a duel. To think you'd even take it to a draw, hm? It was quite.....spectacular."

I noticed a woman standing behind Areo Hotah, who was right next to Prince Doran. I didn't recognize her, but she looked remarkably like the Prince. So I assumed it was his daughter. Although, I don't really know much about House Martell's current members. I do know of Ellia, my uncle's late wife, and her two children. Oberyn, of course, and Prince Doran....other than that, I paid no attention.

I nodded, "Yes, I apologize for my rashness.." I chuckled, "I wanted to see how skilled the famous Red Viper was and Uncle would not send for him despite my constant begging. Even my Father dismissed my requests to duel him, telling me that I was going to be killed by Prince Oberyn. I suppose he was wrong."

Prince Doran chuckled, "That they were...." He said gesturing to his side, "Oh, where are my manners? This is my eldest Daughter, Arianne...Darling, come and greet Ser Rhaegon."

The woman walked forth as Areo stepped to the side. She was beautiful, very beautiful. I admit, she was definitely prettier than any of the ladies that were presented to me on my Tour. To think Dorne was hiding away such a woman from me despite wanting my favor....it was interesting, to say the least.

Arianne smiled, "Ser Rhaegon..." She said as she offered her hand

I took her hand and leaned in, kissing it lightly, "Milady..." I said, "Or is it Princess?"

She chuckled, "Whatever the Black Dragon desires to call me." She said as she looked past me, "What a wonderful beast....no wonder my cousins fell in love with him."

I straightened up as she walked past me, "I'd be cautious if I were you, Morghul may be the calmest of the dragons, but he's still fierce." I said

I saw as Morghul looked at her, who stopped around 3 feet from me. He snorted and shifted, his eyes piercing through her.

"The Black Lord." Prince Doran said, "My daughter was not present the last time he graced us with his presence. I always wondered why he was called that...."

"Oh, when I was born, he hatched." I said, "My Uncle was going to pick a name for him but my mother denied him, saying that it was my right to name my own dragon. So they merely called him the 'Black One' until eventually, they began to refer to him as Lord since Mother said she was a member of House Baratheon."

Arianne looked at me, "Amazing." She said, "Your Mother is quite a woman...."

I nodded, "That she is." I said, "I named him when I officially claimed him when he hung his head for me to ride him when I turned seven. My Aunt Daenerys had also claimed hers and we named them after the dragons that Aegon II's children had; Shrykos and Morghul. I thought it would be funny to name him after Death because, you know.....he's black."

"The color black doesn't always represent Death, you know." Arianne said

"I know." I said, "I was seven."

Morghul looked at me then at her and without a warning, he simply turned around, letting out a rumble. He was displaying his boredom at this point.

"He was quite the mind." Prince Doran said, "He feels that you are safe. Here I thought we would be in quite the trouble in his presence."

"Our bond is strong." I told him, "He can feel what I feel. And I don't feel at all threatened here...unless I should be...?"

He smiled, "Not at all, Ser." He said, "My home is your home now. You are to become familiar with my nieces and until you do so, we will treat The Black Lord as if he was ours. We have acquired enough feed to last a month; Wild Boar."

I raised an eyebrow, "Done your research, hm?" I said, "Morghul loves boar. Dorne has them?"

"We have done some trading in the Reach and Stormlands.....some locations in Dorne has a few scores but not enough to satiate the Dragon." He said

"May I touch him?" I heard Arianne ask

"Perhaps later, Daughter." Prince Doran said, "We should go inside, Oberyn is waiting."

Arianne looked at me, "Such a shame..." She said as she walked past me, "I would've loved to ride him..."

I smiled slightly, "As I said, he may be the calmest of the dragons, but he doesn't just let anyone touch him." I said, "I take it you have someplace to keep him, Prince Doran?"

"Yes. For now, he can stay here, I doubt he's in any mood to cause some trouble." He said as I heard Morghul lay down, "There is a small cave outside our walls that is easy to access and enough shade from the sun. I've made sure that our men can keep an eye on him from a safe distance."

I glanced over at Morghul, he was nestling up already, going to sleep. I guess he was already feeling bored and tired from the flight.

"I suppose you're right." I said,

"Well, let us go."
