Capítulo 39: Lines We Crossed

…we launched together, ate together and fucked together ( not each other, that would be gross.) 

Six years in the military and I already had the clarity that I needed. So many losses later, I had successfully put Brittany deep down in my heart. I was ready to take on the company until the shoot-out. 

Life played a joke on me because just when I was building stability, she resurrected, this time with a flawless face, wider hips and that beautiful hair. But I had one question; "Did our friendship mean so little to you?"

I thought it would be weird to see Lucas in broad daylight after the exercise the night before. It was not a bit awkward at all. It was as if we'd done that before. 

He got up to go to the bathroom, I went to his kitchen to get him coffee like I've done that a million times. His cook, Chef, was so surprised to see me that she interrogated me.
