"What are you talking about, Tina?" Every muscle in my body instantly tenses up and twists into a knot. Erwin notices the sudden change in my expression and leans in to listen to our conversation. "Jessie is there? Please clearly explain." I ask urgently and signal Erwin to pull toward home.
Erwin nods and starts the engine.
"S-She is outside the manor, wrecking havoc. The guards are trying to hold her off but she is accompanied by some men." Tina's voice shakes even more violently. "I don't think they will be able to hold her off for too long. C-Could you please come?"
"I am on my way there," I state. "Just hold on a little more and lock the doors and window. Don't go in front of him until I get there, understood?" I instruct eagerly.
"Yes." Tina sniffles, as if trying to hold back her tears. She sounds so fragile and stiff that it makes my chest squeeze with sympathy. I hang up the call.
