Capítulo 6: Chapter 6

Year 779,

In a certain island port town, on a moonless night, a lively pub bustled with activity. The pub, called The Salty Seagull, was a cozy place with low wooden beams, lanterns casting a warm glow, and walls adorned with nautical memorabilia. The air was thick with the smell of salty sea breeze, ale, and the ever-present chatter of its patrons.

A group of fishermen sat at one corner, nursing their drinks and discussing the latest peril on their waters. "The sea's more dangerous than ever," one grizzled fisherman said, his face etched with concern. "That cursed sea serpent been terrorizing the waters. Sigh, we can't get in the waters without risking our lives."

Another fisherman nodded, taking a deep swig of his ale. "Aye, it's been a week now. The town's been hoping one of the guilds would take up the commission to deal with it. We're running out of time."

A young sailor at the next table leaned over. "Haven't you heard? The Fairy Tail guild has taken the mission."

The first fisherman's eyes widened. "Fairy Tail? Really? I wonder who will come. "

The young sailor grinned. "We're in luck. It's actually two of Fairy Tail's rising stars. Divinity and Scarlet."

The second fisherman looked puzzled. "Divinity and Scarlet? Who the heck are they?"

The sailor's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Have you been living under a rock? Divinity is one of the most famous young wizards right now. They say whenever he fights, any piece of land that gets hit with his light magic glows for at least a month, making the place a holy ground. A single sneeze from him can bless eighteen generations of your family. His looks are said to be so divine that he can charm any girl. Daughters of the rich have been trying to marry him, even my daughter can't stop talking about him."

Another fisherman, older and more skeptical, leaned in. "What about Scarlet?"

"Scarlet, she's one of the most promising female wizards in Fairy Tail. rumours said she can already demolish a mountain with a single attack. She have monster for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Not only that. she is only 14 this year! "

" Only 14? Then what about Divinity? how old is he?" One of the old man asked.

The young fisherman put on a serious look, making the rest of the fisherman look at him with suspense.

"No idea" He said nonchalantly. Making The listeners almost smack him

The older fisherman grunted. "Well, I just hope they come quick and handle that damn sea serpent. It won't be long before we start struggling with food if that thing keeps lingering around our waters. This island is mostly self sufficient after all"

As the pub's patrons continued their gossip, two figures sat quietly in a shadowy corner. One of them, a hooded girl with scarlet hair, giggled softly.

"Heh, wow, Mister Divinity is so popular. Looks so holy, eh? So, it's true that a few rich girls have come to the guild requesting to marry you?" teased the scarlet-haired girl.

"Sigh, shut it, Erza... This port town isn't even that big, but those rumors have spread here? It's so ridiculous... Let's just rest for today and go meet the chief tomorrow to confirm the mission,I'm too tired after the long journey." said the blonde, hooded man, his voice tinged with weariness.

---

The next morning, Ryzen woke up, feeling fatigued but slightly refreshed by the view of the ocean from his window. Erza was still asleep in her bed. Sharing a room was normal for them, they were close enough that Erza often barged into his home to borrow his bath or even take baths together, treating Ryzen like family. Ryzen, on his part, showed no interest in her and find her airheadedness cute like a foolish little sister.

After freshening up and having breakfast, they headed to the chief's place. Erza keep teasing Ryzen along the way but this time Ryzen also teased her with her own embarrassing rumours making them have a somewhat showdown to see who got the most embarrassing rumours amongst themselves.

After a short walk,Ryzen and Erza arrived at the chief's house. The house stood at the edge of town, A grand two story structure with whitewashed wall and red tiled roof. Making it stand out compared to the rest of the houses.

Standing in front of the house was the port town chief, a rotund man with a completely bald head that glistened with sweat. His round face was flushed with a mix of anxiety and relief as he spotted a blond and scarlet hair duo coming his way.

" Ah, you've arrived!" He exclaimed, his voice trembling slightly. " Thank you for coming so quickly" he said while bowing.

The chief invited them to his home and start to explain more about the mission details.

The chief dabbed his forehead with the handkerchief again, his hand trembling slightly. "It's a nightmare, truly," he began, his voice shaky. "About a week ago, this... Black Serpent appeared out of nowhere. At first, we thought it was just a rumor, something the fishermen exaggerated after a long day at sea."

Erza and Ryzen listened intently, their expressions serious. The chief continued, his eyes darting nervously around as if expecting the serpent to appear at any moment.

"But then, it became clear it was no mere rumor. The serpent is massive, with scales as dark as the night and weird pattern all over its body. It seems to come and go as it pleases, always lurking just beyond the harbor. The people of the town haven't realized the full extent of the danger yet.And it is mostly fisherman who knew how serious this situation is. We've tried to keep it quiet to avoid a panic."

He paused, mopping his brow with the handkerchief. Sweat dripped down his face, and his breath came in short, anxious bursts. "But there have already been a few victims. Fishermen, traders... anyone who strayed too far from the shore. The serpent took them without a trace. We found wreckage of their boats, but not the men themselves. "

Erza's eyes narrowed, and Ryzen face was serious. The chief's voice dropped to a whisper. "The serpent... it's not just an animal. It watches us, studies us while trying to stay hidden. I've seen it from my window, those glowing eyes staring at the town as if it's plotting its next move."

"We deal with it quick then" Ryzen said firmly, his voice cutting through the tension. "Before it claims more lives."

Erza nodded in agreement. "We'll do everything we can to protect this town. But we need all the information you can provide."

The chief nodded, his face a mixture of hope and fear. "Thank you. I... I just want my people to be safe. Please, help us."

The chief then explained all he knows about the monster while Erza and Ryzen listen to it intently.

With the mission confirmed, they made their way to the harbor, stopping by a few food stalls along the way. Erza, munching on a skewer, turned to Ryzen. "This might be harder than expected. If I did came to do this mission alone then I'm not sure if I can beat it based on the chief description. I'm glad I invited you along Ryzen" she said with a reassured smile

Ryzen smile back "No worries,This mission should be the ticket for you to be selected as a S class candidate right? You been working hard so try not to get too injured before the S class trial"

" Yeah" said Erza while smiling happily

The two waited at the harbor, keeping an eye out for any signs of the serpent. Occasionally playing game and having some debates while waiting.

Eventually, news came that the serpent was seen near the east side of the island. They rushed to the location and saw a massive black serpent, the size of a medium cruise ship, with intricate, glowing patterns along its body and a huge red crystal on its head.

Erza immediately summoned her magic. "Requip: Sea King Armor!" In a flash of light, she was clad in armor designed for underwater combat. With a powerful leap, she dove into the waters, her armor allowing her to glide effortlessly towards the beast.

Ryzen took to the air, walking on ripples of light beneath his feet. As they engaged the serpent, Erza dove into the water, her sword gleaming as she attacked the beast's underbelly. Ryzen fired beams of light from above, searing the serpent's scales.

-------

The sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden hue over the ocean as waves crashed against the rocks. The sound of battle echoed across the shore, where Ryzen and Erza faced the massive sea serpent for a while now.

Its scales shimmered in the dying light, each ripple of its body sending waves of terror through the surrounding waters.

"Erza, this thing won't go down easily," Ryzen called out, his voice steady despite the chaos.

Erza nodded, her eyes fierce. "Then let's give it everything we've got!"

With a swift motion, Ryzen extended his hand towards the serpent, summoning his signature move. "Gate of Light!" A bunch of radiant ripples opened in the sky, and from it, an arsenal of weapons made of pure light emerged, streaking towards the sea serpent. Each weapon pierced through the serpent's tough hide, leaving trails of light in its wake.

The serpent roared in pain, thrashing violently.

Erza's sword glinted as she struck from beneath, slashing at the serpent's underbelly. Despite their combined attacks, the serpent's wounds began to close, glowing runes along its body signaling its rapid regeneration.

"This isn't working," Erza shouted as she surfaced momentarily.

Ryzen's eyes narrowed as he studied the creature. His gaze fell upon a red crystal embedded in its head. 'The crystal! In most games, gems like that are usually the weak point. Since attacking its body is useless. I might be right!' "Erza, look at the crystal! That might be its weakness!"

Erza nodded, determination shining in her eyes. She jumped high into the air, landing on the serpent's back with a thunderous impact. As she made her way towards the head, Ryzen switched tactics. The weapons of light dissipated, replaced by chains of light that shot out from his ripples of light. They wrapped around the serpent, binding it tightly.

The serpent thrashed, trying to break free, but Ryzen chains held firm. "As long as I provide magic, these chains won't break! It's futile you overgrown snake!" he declared, focusing his energy.

Erza reached the serpent's head, her sword poised. "Ryzen, I'm ready!"

With a nod, Ryzen intensified his chains, holding the serpent in place. Erza brought her sword down with all her might, aiming for the red crystal. The serpent let out an ear-splitting roar, but Erza's blade struck true, shattering the crystal into pieces.

As the crystal broke, an ingenious-looking man with the same runes as the serpent appeared, unconscious, in the serpent's broken crystal.

Erza reached into the crystal, pulling the man out. As she did, the man began to mummify, letting out an eerie, ugly scream. The sea serpent also let out a final, agonizing roar before its body started to disintegrate and melt into the sea. Leaving behind it's skeletal remains

Breathing heavily, Ryzen and Erza watched as the remains of the serpent dissolved. The tanned man in Erza arms was now completely mummified, and the ocean grew calm once more.

Ryzen leapt to Erza's side, helping her lift the mummified man away from the serpent's remains. "We did it," he said, breathing heavily.

Erza nodded, looking down at the man. "But who is he, and what was he doing in that serpent?"

"Hmmm, we'll find out eventually" Ryzen replied. "But for now, let's get him back to the guild. The master should know what's happening. That creature was too odd. Something might be going on behind the scenes"

Together, they made their way back to shore, but unbeknownst to them. Someone have been observing them from the start

A figure in a black cloak watched from the shadows of the island, biting his nails in frustration. "Damn it," the cloaked figure muttered. "They're stronger than I anticipated. And that was one of the successful experiment subject. Argh! Fairy Tail bastard. The Reverse Axis will remember this!" Said the cloaked man before disappearing to the shadows

Erza who was tired was carried by Ryzen like a potato sack in his arms along with the mummified man. She used to be embarrassed and complained whenever Ryzen do this but along the years she started to get used to it and just give in to Ryzen odd ways of taking care of her.

Arriving at shore, they were greeted by the cheers of the townspeople who had gathered after hearing the loud cries of the serpent. " Fairy tail! Fairy tail! Fairy tail " they shout happily.

As they made their way back to the harbor, Erza who have recovered for a bit turned to Ryzen. "Not bad, Mister Divinity. Not bad at all."

Ryzen chuckled, shaking his head. "I just hope the next mission you invite me to is a bit less... legendary."

Erza laughed, clapping him on the back. "Where's the fun in that?"

And as the sun set over the horizon, the two wizards walked back to town, greeted by the cheers of the town people along the way
